Are you watching the Olympics and getting inspired to exercise?
Welcome to our thread where we encourage each other to get up and move.
Some days it isn't easy to exercise and progress seems slow, but keep at it and it will get easier.
We count every movement as exercise--walking to the mailbox? Shopping? Cleaning? Cooking? Some days I count picking up the remote for the TV!
So, tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day.
Have a wonderful week! Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
I watched my local church service online and then watched the sermon from the National Cathedral.
Ran a load of laundry.
Called my mom.
Went and bought a few snacks for tonight's Super Bowl and Olympics. Also got a mocha Frappuccino.
Read and grounded.
Watched some of the Olympics--figure skating is beautiful.
I am having an Amy's gluten free burrito for dinner along with snow peas and a tossed salad.
Then alternating TV channels between the Super Bowl and the Olympics while eating a few chips and a glass or two of wine.

Thanks Hiker for getting us started for the week!
Wasn't feeling good yesterday and today a bit worse. Found some old sinus med and stronger Doxy so I'm praying I feel better tomorrow.
I'm going to call the surgeon's office and let them know I have a sinus infection. I'll be on Doxy even on Friday and surgery is on Thursday.
They might postpone the surgery and if they do I'll see if I can see my GP and get more Doxy.
I'm really tired of this chronic sinusitis and hope to discuss options with her.
I struggled at Josh's yesterday as we celebrated his birthday early because my surgery is scheduled the day before his birthday.
I took a shower and made a turkey lettuce sandwich for dinner.
Also had fat-free pretzel crisps with hummus while watching the Superbowl.
Now I'm watching the Olympics thanks to Josh. He followed me home and set up the indoor antenna on my TV in the livingroom. I finally have local channels. Yay!
Well I'll be watching some figure skating before bed. Figure skating was my Mom's favorite so I'll be thinking of her as I watch.
Good night friends!

AK--Glad you have access to local TV channels now. Hope you can still have the surgery on Thursday.
I did my 5-minute bike warmup and then my knee and plantar fasciitis exercises.
Then rode the exercise bike for 35 more minutes.
The sermons from the national cathedral the past two weeks have been so good, that I listened to them again while I exercised.
Called my mom.
Calculated my mom's medical expenses for her taxes and sent them to my brother. He is in charge of the taxes.
Went to the public library and checked out 6 books. They always come in at once when I put them on hold.
Entered my bird counts for the week into Project Feeder Watch.
Read and grounded. Also watched a curling match for the Olympics.
Took the recycling and garbage bins to the curb.
I am broiling Italian sausage for dinner and steaming some snap peas. Will make a mixed greens salad, too.
Then reading and watching more Olympics.

My GP squeezed me in this morning! She wrote a script for 10 days of stronger Doxy and Diflucan for yeast just in case.
I called the surgeon's office and talked with his nurse. She said it should be OK as long as I don't have a fever. We'll see how that works out at the pre-op appointment Wednesday.
Not feeling great and was rubbing my head because it was hurting. I don't know what in the world happened but had a horrible bout of vertigo and nausea for about 2 hours.
I feel better now and I'm thinking maybe I've got pressure in my ears.
First time this has ever happened with a sinus infection.
I had a PBJ on organic bread for dinner. I'm using a powdered PB that's very low fat.
I'm in my jammies and in the recliner ready to watch the Olympics.
See everyone tomorrow!

Hope you are soon feeling better AK.
Baking day. The bread is ready for the labels.
Washed 4 loads of laundry. Hung the dresses on hangers.
Need to run out to pen up the guineas. There were still 2 outside when I did the evening chores.
It was above freezing today!! YAY!
One of the neighbors was having trouble with the gas lines freezing from the well on his property. The last time, they were without gas 14 hours and it was -8*.
They do have some small electric heaters and electric blankets for the parents they are caring for. So thankful for weather that is a bit warmer again.
Saw a lot of tracks inside my garden fence. Will need to go check it out tomorrow. The deer have found their way in..... And our fruit trees will probably be their lunch. NOT good!!
Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
Manna-- Those pesky deer! Hope you can keep them away from your fruit trees.
I went grocery shopping this morning.
Did my balance and shoulder exercises.
Then went for a 30-minute walk. The temps got into the low 50's today, so I wanted to take advantage of that.
Took a nap after lunch.
Called mom.
Went to the chiropractor.
Then worked a long time on Bible study while grounding.
Also chatted on the phone with a friend.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading and watching the Olympics.

No dizziness today. I was up early, a bit before seven, so took a shower and had some cereal and a pear.
It was in the 70's down here so spent a bit of time on the front porch reading.
Had 3 small corn tortillas with hummus and lettuce for dinner.
I've almost finished my book so plan on reading this evening.
Manna I didn't know gas lines can freeze! How awful! So glad they had electric heaters.
Hiker I used a great Bible app a friend recommended and it sure came in handy for Hebrews chapter 11.
See you all tomorrow!

AK, gas lines freeze when moisture gets inside.
Today it was up in the 50's. Snow is melting. My path to the barn is cleared of snow and now very muddy!
In checking the garden fence, there was is a short space of the old fence and it has a hole in it. The deer were just walking through. I pulled one of the cattle panels over and set it up to cover the holes. Tied it fast with baler twine.
At the far end of the orchard, the fence looked like a deer tried jumping over and landed on it. It was bent down a bit. I tried straightening it up. Also put a few extra strands on baler twine above the fence to make it higher to jump over.
Hopefully Hubby and the boys can go fix it right on Thursday. I didn't see any trees eaten by the deer.
Finished washing a few more loads. Folded wash and put it away.
Sewed the first row of patches together for Oldest Son's quilt.
Filled the dishwasher twice.
Hubby & the boys went to Mens Bible Study tonight.
Baked the whoopie pies. Need to frost them & wrap them.
Hubby said some of the pumpkins in the cold cellar were against the outside wall and froze. Tomorrow we will need to can pumpkin.

I did my knee and feet exercises and then rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes.
Washed my flannel sheets and some towels and remade the bed.
Took the car to the car wash. So much salt on it and now that most of the snow has melted it felt like a good time to get it clean.
Grabbed a cup of java on the way home.
Called my mom and chatted a bit.
Read and grounded. I have a book I checked from the library a month ago that is due on Saturday, so want to get that finished. I cannot renew it again.
I have a pork chop in the oven and will steam so broccoli and make a spinach salad for dinner.
Then more reading and watching Olympics.
AK--Best wishes on your surgery tomorrow! Praying all goes well with the surgery and the recovery. Glad you are staying with Josh.

Thank you all for the prayers! My sinus infection is getting better and I'm so ready for surgery.
Pre-op took awhile because they did bloodwork and I had to have an EKG because my blood pressure is a bit high.
I'm feeling pretty weak but determined to get this surgery so I can get some relief.
I'll check in as soon as I can to let you all know how things turn out.

Wishing you comfort, strength, and a complete recovery. I’ll be thinking of you today and sending healing wishes. You got this akinwlf ! Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
I did my balance exercises and then used the pulley for my shoulder.
Drove over to mom's town and spent time with her. As usual I walked down to the library and got her some books (same building) and sewed on missing buttons from a blouse.
We had lunch together and they even had gluten free bread for the chicken salad.
Came back and went to several banks before I found one that would cash an I bond. I have not converted the paper bonds to digital because when my brother send in bonds to do that it took the Treasury Department 6 months to get them converted.
Filled the car with gas.
Rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.
Read and grounded.
I am eating leftovers for dinner and then will attend Bible study via Zoom.
After that maybe some Olympics and reading.
Also, I understand that AK's surgery went well. Hope it relieves all the pain she has had and she makes a quick recovery. Posted by aklnwlf (Member # 5960) on :
Hi everyone! My surgery went well and I'm recovering at my nephew's until Monday.
He has been such a blessing and is taking such good care of me.
I don't know what I'd do without him!
Love you all!

AK--Hallelujah!
I am dragging a bit today. Didn't even wake up until almost 9 AM. Have had a headache for several days. Not sure if it is sinuses or caffeine withdrawal. Feels more like sinus issues.
Talked to my brother for quite a while.
Took a long time to finish up my taxes and file them digitally.
Went to the grocery to get some acetaminophen and also some BOGO ground turkey. Because beef has gone up in price more demand for ground turkey and it has really gone up in price here.
Called my mom.
Went and grabbed coffee.
Filled the bird feeders.
Then sat and read and watched some Olympics while grounding.
I defrosted meatloaf I made earlier and will have that for dinner with steamed zucchini and a Romaine lettuce salad.
Then my usual reading and also watching more Olympics.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises.
Completed odds and chores like a load of laundry, cooking, cleaning.
Called mom.
Loaded up on caffeine and read this afternoon. Had the Olympics on some, as well. Used the grounding mat.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading and watching more Olympics.
I am reading a novel about Oak Ridge, TN during WWII. Fiction but lots of good history, too.

Ak, so glad to hear your surgery went well and that you have a good care taker while you recover.
This morning, I restuffed the holes in the goat pen with old hay.
Took a bag of old cookies up for the deer. It was hard hiking up the mountain becaue of the hard packed snow from melting. Was a bit scary coming back down. Didn't want to fall.
Did some laundry.
Wrote 2 letters and 1 note and got them out in the mailbox.
Baked a pan of brownies for tomorrow.
Put corn chowder in the crockpot for lunch tomorrow.
Did chores around 5 oclock. It was still light outside and the guineas weren't in their pen. I need to go shut their door.
The goats I bribed in with pieces of bread and got their door shut.
All the chickens were in but one black hen just sitting in the meadow where some log pieces are laying. So I threw some stones nearby to scare her into going in the chicken house. Took quite a few and then I threw a stick which scared her enough to head inside!
Daughter made spaghetti and spinach salad for supper with hot fudge cake & ice cream for dessert.
