“Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” -Francis of Assisi

Welcome to the exercise thread. Let us keep encouraging each other to get up and move! [woohoo]

We count all kinds of movement as exercise--baking, walking, cleaning, shopping, physical therapy etc.

We would love to hear about your exercise or just tell us about your day.

Have a super week! [group hug]

Watched my local church service online. Hard to believe Lent begins on Wednesday.

Ran a load of laundry and then folded it and put it away.

Called my mom as usual.

Had a totally lazy afternoon. Mixed caffeinated and decaf coffee with hot chocolate and drank two mugs of it.

Watched Illini basketball.

Read and grounded.

I had an Amy's burrito for dinner tonight with a tossed salad.

Then I cleaned the refrigerator. Eek. [Eek!]

Now watching Olympics and reading.

Thanks Hiker for starting us off this week.

I've been slowly recovering and might stay a bit longer at Josh's.

I walked around the house a bit then just took it easy the rest of the day.

See you all tomorrow!

AK--At least at Josh's you have his dog for company. Hope you can sit outside if it is nice.

Warm here at 60* although the wind is picking up.

I did my 5 minute bike warm up and then my knee and feet exercises.

Walked outside for 35 minutes.

Called my mom.

Worked on Bible study a long time this afternoon while grounding.

Also watched some of the USA women's hockey game.

Took recycling and garbage bins to the curb.

I am having a grilled turkey burger with snap peas and a mixed greens tossed salad for dinner.

Then starting a new novel and watching the Olympics.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Went grocery shopping. Produce truck didn't come last night, so there were slim pickings.

Walked outside for 30 minutes. It got up to 60* but storms and wind advisory for tonight.

Once a month cleaning gal came. She brought me a caramel Frappuccino and a mocha Frappuccino. I drank the caramel one but it was too sweet. Very kind of her, though. We chatted quite a while, so She didn't get the basement cleaned.

Rather than have her come back another day this week, we agreed she would come next month and clean the oven for no additional cost. The basement is an easy clean for me as I hardly use the bathroom down there.

Read a bit and grounded.

I have had several bouts of myoclonic seizures today. Not sure why. But going to go to bed early tonight and take a bit extra seizure meds.

Leftovers for dinner.

Then some reading and Olympics. Women's figure skating final is tonight, I think.

Wrote out several checks and got them in the mail. Wrote one letter and sent that also.

Did a bunch of cooking this morning as we had workmen here for lunch. Seven men and boys from church came.

They came to help put the tin roof on the shop the boys are building. Got it finished except for the roof cap. Forgot to get the piece that goes inbetween to keep the bees and such like out.

We had bread, butter & pineapple jelly, meatballs, mashed potatoes, green beans & 7 day pickles for lunch. For dessert we had peach cobbler.

Two brothers said those were the best pickles they ever had - Send the recipe to our mom! So I did. Someone else had asked for that same recipe earlier.

You could tell which of the men were used to working on a roof. They stood upright and moved with confidence. The others hang on tight and move much more slowly and carefully.

Took a short nap this afternoon.

Supper was leftovers from lunch.

Baking the whoopie pies this evening.

Hubby & the boys went to Mens Bible Study.

Ak, glad to hear you are recovering well. Josh's dog will be good company for you.

Hi everyone! Today I stood outside awhile with Juno and got some fresh air and sun. I walked around inside the house for 20 minutes. Other than that took it easy.

Juno kept me busy taking her outside almost every hour.

Josh made teriyaki chicken and we had leftover rice and veggies with it. I'm still not able to eat much. I know it takes time for your digestive system to get used to not having a gallbladder.

I don't have an appetite at all but I'm making myself eat because I'm still on Doxy for my sinuses.

Hiker those coffees sound so good! Also I hope you feel better soon.

Manna your lunch sounds heavenly! Back in 2001 when I was building my little cabin in AK I had a ton of help from church members and my bestie's sons. What I didn't count on was how much all of us could eat. Your post brought back wonderful memories!

See everyone tomorrow!

AK--Glad you could get outside.

Manna--Your pickles sound good. Are they dill pickles? I love dill but not sweet pickles.

I did my knee and feet exercises. Then rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.

Gorgeous day out except way to windy to go for a walk. [Cool]

I went for a haircut.

Finished up the Bible study for this week so I will be competent at tomorrow's session.

Then the rest of the afternoon was a phone session.

First, I chatted with mom. Then chatted with a former colleague. Then chatted with my BFF. I am all chatted out!

I am baking barbecue chicken for dinner, steaming broccoli and making another spinach salad.

Then watching Olympics and reading.

Juno kept me hip hopping all day taking her in and out. Josh bought me a small bouquet of flowers Friday so I trimmed them down and put them in a tall water glass.

Took a shower then ate a pear and half a can of salmon for brunch. Had a small applesauce for a snack then leftover rice, veggies and an egg all in one bowl for dinner.

Surgery center called to check on me today and I told them I'm not able to go to the bathroom. They recommended Miralax, etc.

Josh took me to Walmart because I thought I could walk around a bit.

Big mistake! He had to find a place for me to sit down while he shopped.

I'm very weak. My legs were shaking. It's going to be a long recovery.

I have no idea when I can go back home. I'm hoping maybe this weekend or next week.

Josh, bless his heart, bought things to make spaghetti and a casserole. He is taking better care of me than I would.

See you all tomorrow!

Hiker, these are sweet pickles. Its a kind my mom always made. I do too.

AK, I think all the hard work of building gives great appetites!

Got a birthday package put in the mail for my friend.

Washed 2 loads.

Helped Hubby measure to get the posts spaced right for his little greenhouse. He asked my opinion on where to put the water in the greenhouse. I suggested against the summer kitchen wall.

He groaned, because it meant digging to put the water line over another few feet, but he agreed it was the best place to put it.

Started tracing a dress pattern for my cousin. Her daughter wants to sew a dress for her and I have her pattern . We made adjustments to it and it looked rather pieced together. So I'll send her a nice one.

When I went out to do the chores, the rooster living with the guineas had a hen in with him. I went in and picked her up from off the roost and carried her up to the chicken house where she belongs.

Gonna have to advertise roosters for sale again. He refuses to live with the other rooster as they were picking on him.

Supper was diced potatoes with brown butter, yellow string beans, meat balls, cherry tomatoes with dressing, bread n butter with peach or pineapple jelly.

Gabbed with a nephew for about 1 1/2 hours. He called to ask how to make gravy. And then we just gabbed.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Attended Bible study.

Went for a 30 minute walk after lunch. 60* today but will only be 40* tomorrow.

Called mom.

Filled the suet feeder. I am getting a lot of woodpeckers visiting.

I was riveted to the women's gold medal hockey game between USA and Canada while grounding. USA won in overtime.

I will watch the last of the women's figure skating tonight although I know who won the gold medal. Too beautiful to miss all the skaters.

Leftovers for dinner.

AK--Hang in there. You will get stronger each day! [Smile]

I called the surgeon's office and spoke with the nurse about not being able to go to the bathroom. She said not to take pain meds and I should be fine.

I'm calling tomorrow if I'm not better. I can't eat and have trouble drinking water.

To top that off I look pregnant. My stomach is so swollen.

I've tried everything from Miralax to suppositories. Josh brought home liquid magnesium citrate and had me take that but no success.

He's so worried. Also his little Juno has heartworms and will go into the doggie hospital from Monday to Friday.

I hope and pray things will get better.

I did walk around the house for 20 minutes but was slow going today.

See everyone tomorrow!

Hope you feel better tomorrow, AK.

Baking day.

Also did laundry. Most of it is folded and put away.

Cut more patches and sewed more quilt blocks together.

My mom called this afternoon and we gabbed awhile.

Since it isn't so cold anymore, the chickens are laying more eggs.

The bird feeders aren't emptying as fast either.

Good news! 5:00 a.m. all the meds kicked in! I feel so much better but still taking Miralax until I see the surgeon on Wednesday.

I'm working on the second load of laundry and making an easy dinner for tonight. Frozen mixed veggies and a ground beef dish similar to hamburger helper.

I ate 2 scrambled eggs and a pear! I'm so glad I can eat.

See you all later!

Oh and I'm still at Josh's. I'm not used to having someone doing things for me and I must admit I'm happy as a clam over here.

AK--Glad you are better. Josh may want you to move in, since you help with Juno!

I did my bike warmup and my knee and feet exercises. That all takes about 45 minutes.

Only in the low 30's today with 45 mph wind gusts, so I did not go walking.

Called my mom.

Watched some Olympics this afternoon, read, and grounded.

Made a meatloaf and will eat some for dinner tonight along with snap peas and a tossed spinach salad.

Then read and probably watch a little bit more of the Olympics. Figure skating is over and I so enjoyed watching that. Will be in withdrawal after the closing ceremonies on Sunday. [Big Grin]

I ran a load of laundry.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Called my mom.

After lunch I filled all the bird feeders(5).

Went to the public library and checked out 4 books.

Stopped for coffee on the way home.

Watched some of the Olympics. This afternoon they showed some of the figure skaters just having fun skates for the crowd.

Leftovers for dinner.

Then alternating between the Olympics and the Illini basketball game.

Also cracking open the newest J.D. Robb novel.

Josh drove me home today to pick up more clothes. I'm staying a bit longer because the area by the incision in my naval is swollen and sore.

I must say though I've been enjoying being able to eat again. No pain when I eat fats like cheese. Still not eating much but that's OK.

Hiker I hated that I missed the Olympics this year but will try and catch it on YouTube. My Mom loved the figure skating and we watched it together.

I don't know if I mentioned this but little Juno has heart worms! She's going into the doggie hospital Monday and will stay til Friday. Please remember her in your prayers. We love her so much!

Josh gave me a book he has to read while I'm here. It's a collection of thrillers that are probably right up your alley Hiker. The title is Thriller and I've been enjoying the short stories.

I know it's late but will try to squeeze in another story.

See you guys tomorrow!
