Here we encourage each other to get up and move about.
Are you walking, spring cleaning, maybe planting a garden? Shopping or baking?
No matter how little the exercise it still counts.
So tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day!
Happy Spring! Posted by hiker53 (Member # 6046) on :
My local church had a wonderful sermon today about how Jesus always shows up (Gospel was from John about disciples locking the door to upper room after his resurrection).
Then I did two loads of laundry. Washed heavy sweatshirts and put them away and washed my down comforter and put it away, too.
Manna--did you opt for flannel or regular sheets this week?
Called my mom and sipped coffee while grounding. Also read a bit and did my newspaper puzzles.
Very windy today although warm and looks like it is getting ready to storm.
Dinner tonight is an Amy's gluten free burrito and a spinach salad.
Then reading and maybe watching a recorded show.

Went to church this morning.
Took a nap in the afternoon.
3 of the children went with the chorus to sing this evening.
Both roosters in the pen outside got out of their pen last night so roamed free today. I propped up the wire and one went in, knocking out the prop.
When I went out to feed the animals the other was sitting on the kid pen and I was fast enough to catch him. Popped him back in the pen.
Went out after the light were out and caught the hen who was living with the guineas. She's back in the chicken house.
Hiker, I opted for cotton sheets, but left the quilts on the bed.
Mixed up the sourdough bread to rise overnight.
Soaked my foot in epsom salt water again tonight. Stepped on a stick that poked into my heel Saturday morning. Its looking good and feeling better.

I did my bike warm up and my knee and plantar fasciitis exercises.
Walked for over 35 minutes. Quite warm at 80* and a bit windy.
Called mom.
Took a nap this afternoon. Then read the paper and worked the puzzles while grounding.
Went to the dentist. The hygienist is a perfectionist, and I always feel like she has worked my mouth over good. But I know I will have clean teeth. I am blessed to have good teeth, too.
Took the landscape bin and garbage bin to the curb.
I am having turkey burgers, snap peas, and a spinach salad for dinner. The reading and maybe some TV.

Baking day.
Washed mountains of laundry today. One son was back home after a week at Bible School. So extra laundry to do.
Took the 19th chick that hatched out to the chick pen. There are more eggs with cracks in them.
Supper was mashed potatoes, harvard beets, cauliflower with cheese, hamburger gravy, fresh homemade bread & jelly. For dessert vanilla ice cream.
I am tired tonight.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises.
Went grocery shopping.
Walked for about 30 minutes but struggled with the wind.
Called my mom.
Took a very short nap. Didn't sleep but was toxic so just lay down to rest
Grounded and worked puzzles.
Went to the chiropractor.
Leftovers for dinner. Then reading.

Today was knee and feet exercise day.
Plus, I rode the exercise bike for over 30 minutes.
I did odds and ends chores around the house. Rainy day, so only went out for coffee.
Called mom.
Read and grounded. Texted a lotto a couple of friends and sent some emails to friends overseas.
Did financial stuff and paid bills.
Cooking a pork chop for dinner. Pairing it with zucchini and a spinach salad.
Then reading and watching a short documentary.

Exercise today was going down to the garden and raking the weeds off the area to plant sugar peas.
Found a gladiolus bulb that was missed when we dug them up last fall. It survived the winter and has leaves growing. Dug it up and put it in the raised bed until I get the rest of the bubls planted.
Repotted two pothos plants that were out growing their pots.
Washed a load of table cloths. Soaked them in hot soapy water a few hours first.
Cleared off a shelf rack setting on my sewing room cutting table. Gave the shelves to daughter for her books. Now I need to find homes for the things that were on that shelf.
Hubby fixed a mower and started mowing grass for the first time this spring. Looks nice where he got it done.
The pansies that came up from last year are blooming beautifully! I think I'll plant some more this year to come up next spring again. Such cheerful flowers.
Saw the irises have buds coming. The azaleas only have a couple blossoms down in the bushes. I hope those cold temps didn't harm the others.
The freeze ended the daffodils & hyacinth bloom time quicker than usual, They were pretty while they lasted.
Strawberries are blooming. I need to get the bird netting put up so the guineas don't eat the berries. Saw there are a few more blueberry bushes with blossoms this year.
Supper was sausage, french green beans, white and sweet potatoes.
Placed my grocery order to be delivered tomorrow morning.
Need to mix up the sourdough bread and weigh out the flour for the white bread for tomorrow's baking day.

Manna--Spring had been odd. My daffodils budded but didn't bloom although the tulips did. My crabapple didn't fully bloom and the few blooms are already off the tree.
Today was balance and shoulder exercise day.
Also rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.
Made nectar and put out the hummingbird feeder for the first time this spring. Scouts have been seen in the area.
Did some cooking and freezing food for next week.
Made my usual call to mom and then read and grounded. Did the newspaper puzzles, too.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading.

Baking day and laundry day. Hung all the wash out on the lines to dry. The last load was hung out around 4. It was dry except for 2 pieces when I brought it in just as it started to rain very lightly.
We are now having a nice gentle shower. Sounds so nice on the porch roof. We had windows open today as it was quite warm.
When I went out to let the guineas outside at 3 oclock, there was a fuss going on in the barn. Both the roosters and guineas were fussing. And then I saw why...... A SNAKE!! In the guinea pen!
I yelled for Sonny to come get it, but he was too slow and let it get away. Next time I'll just have to make sure there is a shovel handy and go after it myself. They scare me and I do NOT like them!
Should go finish folding wash and get it put away. Have most of it folded.

Manna--The snake would unnerve me, too. If I see them, I am usually okay, but the surprise ones bother me. What kind of snake?
I did my bike warmup and knee and feet exercises.
Then walked for over 25 minutes.
Cleaned out the storm grate by the mailbox.
Called mom.
Washed sheets and my quilt. Remade the bed but used a different quilt.
Read and grounded.
Warm breezy day with highs in the 80's. Windows are open for now.
Tornado watch now in effect and level 3 out 5 for severe weather. Probably coming after dark.
Meatloaf for dinner with a salad and snow peas.
Then starting a new novel and probably listening to Ryan Hall YouTube weather off and on.

Hiker, I think it was a black snake. At least they aren't poisonous, but I still don't want them in my barns.
Neighbor says they will eat eggs and baby chicks/keets. But won't bother the big birds. Sometimes chickens will kill the snakes. Hope they go after this one!
Washed one load and hung it out to dry. So nice to go out in the fresh spring air!
Broke seed heads off the rhubarb. Trimmed some dead canes out of the raspberry plants and one rose bush.
Took all the unhatched eggs out of the incubator. Wasn't a very high success rate. Not sure if its the incubator or unfertile eggs.
Paid the water & electric bills.
Worked at organizing in my sewing room. The drawers in my sewing machine cabinet were a mess. Much better now, still need to finish the top drawer.
Transplanted some baby lemon trees into bigger pots.
Watered houseplants.
Supper was bbq chicken thighs, baked corn, buttered carrots and the second picking of asparagus.
Hubby got some more mowing done.
Tonight Sonny is working on his pick up truck, and Hubby & one of the other boys is working on getting electric wires down to the partially built shop.
Hope those tornadoes miss you, Hiker.

A tornado came through town after dark last night. It did not affect my home at all, but ripped some of the roof off the Rivian car plant and did a lot of damage throughout town. Very quick storm.
I picked up branches that fell in the storm and located my hummingbird feeder which blew off the shepherd's pole.
Mixed up more nectar and refilled the feeder and filled the thistle feeders as well.
Did my balance and shoulder exercises.
Ran load of laundry.
Called mom.
Read and grounded.
Leftovers for dinner and then maybe some TV and more reading.

So glad your home was safe from the storm, Hiker. I thought of you.
Did 2 loads of laundry.
Moved the chicken's fence so they have plenty of fresh grass. Oldest son helped me.
Put epsom salt on the strawberry patch and the asparagus patch.
Bonemeal on the saffron beds.
Fertilizer on the rhubarb & asparagus.
Soaked the white buttons from my button box in clorox water.
Daughter made supper tonight, baked ham, diced potatoes, yellow string beans, salad eggs & for dessert, canned peaches and whoopie pies that came back from the store.
I gathered my ingredients for the crock pot for Sunday lunch. Sausage, beans & potatoes.
Want to go work at organizing my sewing room this evening.
Its raining a nice gentle rain. This should help the garden grow!
Need to find old blankets & sheets to cover the blooming this when the temps drop to freezing.
