“The hardest part is over. You showed up.” —Jess Sims

Welcome to the exercise thread. [woohoo]

Hope you can get outside and move about this week.

Are you walking, gardening, shopping, cleaning, etc.

We count any kind of movement as exercise.

So, tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day.

Have a super week! [group hug]

Slept in.

Watched my local church online and then listened to the National Cathedral sermon.

Called my mom.

Ran a load of laundry.

Filled the hummingbird feeder.

Masked up and went to the library to get two books that were on hold. Feeling better but don't want to expose others to Covid. Did self checkout.

Sat outside earthing and read and then talked a long time with a friend.

Just ordered a gluten free pizza and will go pick it up. Making a butter lettuce salad to go with it.

Then reading and a little TV.

Did my knee and feet exercises and rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes.

Called my mom.

It has been storming on and off all day. There was a short break in the rain, so I went and cleaned out the storm grate when I went down the drive to get the mail.

Took a short nap.

Spent the afternoon reading and doing newspaper puzzles.

I am having brats for dinner with snow peas and a butter lettuce salad.

Then when it stops raining, I need to get the garbage bin to the curb.

Probably watch some TV and read tonight.

Baking and laundry today.

Hung some of the wash out on the line, the rest went in the dryer.

Trimmed the raspberry canes that have some sort of blight. Dumped them down where we are filling in a washout.

Good exercise pulling the wagon up the hill and then down again.

Fed the animals and birds.

Want one of the boys to help catch the white rooster to put in with the chickens. Took out the one black rooster.

Supper was meat balls, canned potatoes and canned beans, and caesar salad.

Went grocery shopping.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises. Rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes.

Called mom. Something is wrong with her phone as she can't hear me but I can hear her. Put in a request at the nursing home to swap out phones.

Took a 45 minute nap after lunch.

Did the puzzles in the newspaper. I do read the paper and the best part is the comics, of course.

Was toxic and glad I already had scheduled a chiropractor appointment. Think the candida is making more toxins than the covid.

Brats again for dinner with snow peas, strawberries, and a butter lettuce salad.

Then starting a new novel.

Folded & put away the clean wash.

Baked whoopie pies.

Made red beet eggs.

Pulled weeds in the strawberry beds until it got too dark to see.

The white rooster is escaping the chicken pen. Didn't see how he did it, but was out again the second time.

Supper was cheeseburger soup and bread with butter & peach jelly.

Organized a bit more in the sewing room.

Did my knee and feet exercises. Rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes.

Still have a lot of aching joints but my runny noise and cough from Covid are going away. Slow progress.

Called my mom. She couldn't hear me at all again.

Called my satellite TV company. My $15 a month reduction that I had for a year went away. Sadly, they won't put it back at this time. But cable here is more expensive. And I admit, I do like to watch some TV.

Cleaned the hummingbird feeder and put in fresh sugar water.

It barely made it to 50* and was quite windy today.

Spent some of the afternoon doing puzzles, reading, and grounding.

But I did wash a load of sheets and towels and remake my bed.

I will cook a pork chop for dinner and steam a veggie plus make a tossed salad. I eat so much salad I will begin to look like a lettuce leaf! [Big Grin]

Then some TV and reading.

Hiker, your lettuce leaf story reminds me of my brother. He says lettuce salad is Rabbit Food!

Thankfully my family all likes salad. We are waiting for the lettuce in the garden to grow.

Put the bird netting over the strawberry beds. Found one berry red enough to pick.

Did a bit more organizing in the sewing room and then cut more patches and sewed them. Got 2 more rows of patches attached to the quilt top.

Daughter worked at cleaning out the pantry. Looks so much better and nicely orgnized. Have some outdated stuff to feed to the chickens and cats.

Started on my grocery order.

Supper was sausage, sweet potatoes, fresh asparagus, green beans & red beet eggs.

Mixed up the sourdough bread for tomorrow's baking.

Balance and shoulder exercises today.

Then felt good enough (and the weather cooperated) to go for a 30 minute walk.

Called mom. She can't hear and thought it was my brother. Very short conversation.

Talked to a friend for quite a while.

Filled the two safflower feeders.

Read the paper and did the puzzles as I grounded.

Leftover pork chop for dinner along with steamed zucchini. Of course, "Lettuce." eat salad again tonight (pun intended) [Wink]

Then reading.

Baking and washing today.

Covered the strawberry beds with sheets as there is a frost warning for tonight & tomorrow night.

Caught the escaped white rooster and put him back in the chicken house. Last chance for him. There was a white hen in with the guineas tonight. Caught her & put her back where she belongs.

Noticed the goat fence was down. Fixed that and then saw one of the chicken fence posts wasn't in place. So fixed that too. Tomorrow should go check the whole way around the chicken pasture fence.

Placed our grocery order for tomorrow morning.

I did my bike warmup and my knee and feet exercises.

Cleaned out the storm grate by the mailbox.

Went to the library and picked up 5 books that were on hold.

Didn't feel great today==toxic with headache and a stomachache, too. I rarely get tummy aches.

So, sat and grounded in the recliner and did puzzles and read.

Called mom.

Meatloaf for dinner with zucchini and a romaine lettuce salad.

Then reading and to bed early.

Uncovered the strawberry beds this morning.

When I let the chickens out for the day, Mr Rooster was out of the pasture before I was finished filling the feeders. So he goes back in his pen and we will try adding the gray rooster in with the hens.

Wrote & letter n got it in the mail.

Sewed a few more patches for the quilt. Still need to make 8 more patches to finish the quilt. Maybe I can get it done tonight!

Broke the sweet potato slips off and stuck them in water to grow roots.

Supper was diced potatoes, hamburger gravy, string beans and red beet eggs.

Time to go do the evening chores.

Did a load of laundry but skipped my regular exercises this morning.

Made a healthy lunch of salmon, asparagus and half a sweet potato.

Called my mom. She could hear me a bit better today. Hope that continues.

Took a 30 minute nap and then fortified myself with caffeine.

Nice day out although a bit cool. So, cut off the low dead branches of my red bud. Don't think the tree will last many more years.

Also cut some low hanging branches of the crabapple to make it easier for Bret to mow.

Dug up my dead Bobo hydrangeas. I can see why they are dead. They had barely any roots and were planted very shallow in the soil.

Need to think about what I will get to replace them. Maybe Pontentilla. Prefer white blooms as I have a lot of yellow coreopsis in front, but may settle for yellow. One of my little spirea looks pretty bad, as well, in the front. Back ones always do fine.

Leftovers for dinner and then some TV and reading.
