I have never even heard about MRSA, until I heard a guy at a gas station talk about it with the cashier.

I was nosy because he had a picc line.

I thought he might have Lyme disease, so I asked the cashier after the young guy left.

She said he had MRSA.

I had never heard of it.

Now, I have found out a little about it, after I ordered Silver Sol. and after I did a search here.

Where do I go for more info?

I will read the govt. info, and medicinenet.com, but maybe some one here has a good website about it.

Thanks.

Mayo had a link to info.

It's an opportunistic infection. Most people get it in the hospital... esp after surgery.

This is a good resource:
http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/108972-overview

MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. They say about a third of the population carries this bacteria on their skin or in their nasal passages.

If you develop an infection and the doctor suspects MRSA, they should take a culture to see what antibiotics your particular strain will be most susceptible to. This will ensure proper treatment and eradication of the infection.

MRSA infections are serious, they need to be treated aggressively. There is no over the counter product that will take care of this infection for you. If you suspect MRSA do not try to treat this on your own with Silver, please consult a doctor.

my mom got it in the hospital. also my son in law got it but never figured out from where.

his was some kind of open sore. he travels a lot.

i really don't know much about it.

a nurse in the er one time told me she was more afraid of mrsa than aids or any other thing.

Many people have mrsa. we come in contact with it often. I know a number of people who have had it. I know older people who died from it. some it goes into a remission. there are people on this site who have mrsa and lyme.
