I think it is just a computer program issue. The editing feature has been turned off for everyone (that I can tell).

Maybe it is time to get tree's newby links put into a FAQ/most talked about section, so it doesn't have to be shoved forward constantly. Got to be a way to keep it up to date, though.

I do NOT like the removal of the editing feature either!

Ancora Imparo...I am still learning... and would like the ability to update my "Updated Nutshell" post and others if I feel it is necessary.

It's probably just broken and no one's figured out how to fix it yet. Maybe, it'll be back as soon as they find the right thing to turn it back on. (Having a half-full kind of day.)

In the meantime I hope I spelled everything right.

We are aware of the problem and we are working on it. LymeNet is very old and parts need to be replaced. However, we have no money. We are working on a solution so please be patient.

LymeNet resides on five big shelves in my basement and was a senior project for two Lehigh students, Marc and Tom in conjunction with the Lyme Disease Network. Although they are both married with children now, Marc and Tom continue to keep LymeNet going. Lou B. and his wife moderated LymeNet for years and did a great deal of fundraising for us in gratitude for helping their daughter.

Jenifer took over Lou B's spot as moderator but she is away this week which is why she isn't responding.

You may notice that things a slower than normal. That is because of the work being done.

Hope this clarifies things for you. Stay tuned for new developments as we continue to work on this problem.

Thank you Carol and thank you to all the others who make this wonderful asset available to us.

I would be glad to donate to update Lymenet.

Sort of reminds me of the time the ``five `o' clock whistle'' broke, so I didn't know it was time to quite. I kept working and didn't get home till half past two and tried to sneak into bed so as to not wake th ......

Thanks for the reply. Guess we thought maybe it had been removed intentionally, having something to do with space available issues. Just speculation from a total non-technie.

Glad to hear someone is working on it.

Thanks from me too, for keeping this thing going so long. You are getting major points with Saint Peter for this service!

Carol,

Fixing and updating this site would actually be cheap and easy to do. There's a great hosting company with an awesome reputation that's really cheap. You can actually have your own server for $150 per month!!!!!!!!!

One of the biggest problems, as I'm sure you know, is that this Ultimate Bulliten Board software is very bandwidth inefficient and very slow. A friend of mine had this same software going on his huge BBS for vintage guitar amps, and he just took my advise and changed to PHPBB software (lots of templates/looks to choose from) and went to the new server host I'm talking about. Now it's lightning fast, reliable and everyone loves it. They got all the posts transfered over to the new format with no problems.

I won't mention the server host info. publically because I don't want any good info. passed on for trolls to benefit from, so feel free to email me. This is the best set-up on the net today for bulliten boards and server hosts combined......and very low cost. Try clicking around on my friends board Here and see how fast it is. He does like 4-5GB (Gigabytes) per day, so he far exceeds daily traffic here, so you might even get away with half a server which brings it down to around $75 per month or maybe even less. A full server plan starts at 150GB per month and goes up to 350GB.

Oh s**t, how the he** did I miss that ... You are absolutely correct ... the "edit" icon is missing!
I just submitted a bug report to our techies ... hopefully they'll get on it soon.

They now should know about the missing ICON for editing.

By popular request, the EDIT feature is back on--thanks for your patience while we do maintenance on the system to prepare for some upcoming improvements to the system.
