Hi:

I am posting this because some members may want to help or can send it along for others who may want to help:

http://www.pasadosafehaven.org/NEWS/TO%20VOLUNTEER.htm

Look at the poor dog in this picture - this is what they are finding:

I already posted this in response to another topic but feel it's of an urgent nature.

I am leaving Monday to go to L.A. and M.S.

My immune system sucks, and I don't have shots for hepatitis A or B, or tetanus or anything else...I was wondering if the tics would survive!

I was thinking of Taking Doxy for the next 4 weeks in case I pick up any...what do you think?

PS We are going to be connecting with Pasada to help...only going for 5 days this trip.

Hi June Bug

Thank you for responding.

I am trying to help anyway I can.

Sending money - writing letter to government officials.

You can sense the frustration the rescue agencies are experiencing because there is so much need and government help is one source that could have contributed to the effort. However, little too late.

But the need for volunteers will go on for months.

I wish I could comment on the tick problem. But from what I understand that would be the least of your worries at this point.

No human comforts to speak of - you have to provide all your own.

The doxy is a good idea. Lots of bacteria etc to contend with.

Shots would be good too.

God bless the people who are willing to do without to help in a time like this!!

I am sure many pet owners are having nightmares thinking of how their animals are faring and suffering and dying - from being forced to leave them behind.

God speed

Pat

Pat,

I could do a few PTO days, but heard from someone else that it's a 3-week minimum? Was that for assisting and aiding the residents?

I have a dog crate (medium) and softkrate (med), not carriers, available and room at our home for 2-3 small critters to foster for a while. How and/or when can I make this offering to those surviving furry friends? I can take hamsters, guinea pigs too. Have had'em all

Lisa

Lizards are good too.
No spiders and snakes.... please
