I know I've made this statement before but I wanted to run something by ya'll.
I am obsessive-compulsive about cleaning. Even when I'm dog tired, I still have to clean my house. Now granted, I'm not down on my hands and knees cleaning the floor, but I'm pretty good.
So, here's my thinking. I'm retired and getting bored, sitting here looking at the tube.
I know there are lymies around this area that need help. I went to one lymies house and had to wade in the front door. Since I was with someone else, I kept my big mouth shut, but I was thinking "why doesn't someone help this poor guy." He kept repeating he couldn't clean, too tired, etc
I wanted to offer but I didn't want to offend him. I have a friend who is having surgery soon and I offered to come down and help her and she got sounding really funny so I backed off. I think I made her mad, but I was really trying to help....
Alright, so what do you think if I could volunteer to go and help other lymies by cleaning their houses? I could use their cleaners or if they didn't have some, use my own.
I'd hate to hack more people off, but if someone needs help, why not offer?
Would it be offensive to you if someone offered to stop by and clean for ya for the price of a McDonald's or just sitting there chatting?
It would get me out of the house and help someone. What do you think???

Randi, Come over anytime!!!!!!!
I don't usually cook but if you clean... I'll even do that. Ok, or I will pick up take-out, which is probably more my speed.
As a matter of fact, if you just help me clean I'd feed you, too.
Coming to FL anytime soon? Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :
Shucks, I live in the DFW area.
Don't do out of area. But I sure would enjoy and meeting other lymies and I would have fun doing it.
One girl at work used to say I was sick.........but you should have seen her house.
A cockroach wouldn't have lived there and I wouldn't stay longer than five minutes.......

I would think ANYONE would love someone willing to help them with cleaning...
Even more so the sick or injured....
especially when all it costs is a meal...
its not cheap to hire someone to tidy up.
If they get offended by you offering to help them in this way the lyme has obviously been reeking havoc on there brain. Posted by just don (Member # 1129) on :

hi Randi,
i'm one of those that can use help, and i'm a good cook, however, you need to rest to get well. i would only accept help from healthy people. i was gravely ill when my children were babies, so i just had to keep going, hide how bad i felt.....but doing too much when you are sick is only going to make you sicker.....
maybe your dr can prescribe something to help you calm (sp?) down. take up relaxing hobbies like knittng, reading books....
when i was near death i used to push myself ( a few times that summer ) to ride my bike because i did not want to be in a wheelchair at 37 yrs old. and UPENN drs thought my condition funny.
being one of the walking dead is not good. along with agressive medical treatment, you need to take care of yourself and get some rest. i do know.

Randi, I think this could be the beginning of a wonderful friendship My rather small apartment needs much cleaning and I don't have the energy or desire these days. I love to cook though, a range of candida friendly foods. Most days I spent 3-4 hours cooking or going through recipies for the next day. And, I live in the DFW area so this is plausible.
Although, I wouldn't let you in my apartment until I had it close to spotless. Have to make a decent first impression. Posted by sick (Member # 9143) on :
How does Iowa sound to you?
Before I got so sick I would not go to bed before everything was done and in it's place. I had a reputation of having a house so clean you could eat off of the floors.
Now my son of 25 has never seen my house clean. He seldom sees his mom dressed or hair fixed let alone makeup on.
My problem is even when I did keep my house clean I hated doing house work. I use to say if God had to make me a women why didn't he make me enjoy house work. One time I actually figured up how many more times I would have to clean my house before I died.
I don't like to cook either but I do it. Now give me dirty laundry and they be cleaned, ironed and put away.
Torn clothes needing repair, no problem. I even put a zipper in an oil skin vest the other day for a young man. He was overheard saying he was going to pay me 40.00 for doing it.
When I gave it to him he grabbed his check book and said,"What do I owe you." I looked at him and said, "well, I figured we were even now." He looked at me and said,"What do you mean?'"
I said, "Well wasn't it you and a friend of yours I called once when I had car trouble?" He said,"I don't know. Maybe it seems like I remember something about that."
Well, I said,"I remember a lot about it. I called and instantly you guys were here with smiles on honking your horn and saying ,"What's Up."
Nothing has made me feel so good to think you would help me so willingly.
So I said,"Are we even?" He smiled and said I guess so. Then I added I made need help again sometimes who knows.
Anyway back to the subject of helping clean. Wouldn't it be great if all of were closer together. Put all of our strentghs together and we would have it made!
