Is an ingredient in plastic the new Lead?

Bisphenol-A (BPA) is the starting material used to make polycarbonate plastic. Over 50% of canned goods on US market shelves are lined with a BPA-based resin and Bisphenol-A can leach into foods and beverages. Even baby bottles contain BPA.

Scientist, Randy Jirtle at Duke University found that by feeding mice BPA during pregnancy and nursing caused epigenetic changes. And that exposure to BPA in the womb can permanently alter genes of animals.

Dr. Jirtle also found that when female mice were given BPA during pregnancy they gave birth to mice that had a much greater risk for diabetes, obesity and cancer.

Note: Dr. Jirtle exposed the mice to the same amount of BPA that the typical human would be exposed to.

Is it just me or does it seem like everything modern turns out to be toxic or harmful to our health in some way?

That is not the only danger from plastics. According to John Hopkins: don't use plastic of any kind in a microwave, it releases dioxin into the food. Never freeze liquids in plastic containers again releasing dioxins.

Most plastic containers have no warning labels on them and are perfectly legal.

But you can't sale RAW apple cider in this country legally without putting a warning label on it.

And RAW milk is illegal in most states.

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

So go figure?

Plastics ARE chemical wastes, usually ..., uh, ..'recovered'.. from toxic byproducts of the processing of petroleum. But after its short useful life, plastic is even more toxic than these byproducts; it BECOMES pure nasty pollution of the worst kind. Especially if incinerated! But "recycling" of plastic is probably almost as much, IF NOT MORE (VERY good chance that it is more) polluting!

Plastic that is 'recycled' becomes even more toxic, so cannot be used in food containers. And because it is basically a waste product of our insane consumption of gasoline and other petroleun distillates, it is much cheaper to produce virgin plastic, which is still, of course, very toxic, than this more toxic...'recycled'... plastic.

Yes, you have hit the nail on the head; at least, one of the nails, pointed into the head of the future of humanity.

And now , starting about 3 months ago, I CAN'T EVEN BUY A GALLON OF APPLE JUICE In A GLASS CONTAINBR! iTS ALL PLASTIC. and really light plastic, at that-- sure to outgas and leach into your juice, more nasty carcinogens than ever!

Lets RISE UP! Write letters protesting the disappearance of TRULY RECYCLABLE GLASS CONTAINERS!!

We cannot afford to do what we're doing now. And why does this occur to a post-lyme coma victim like me? What does THAT say about our schools? (Or did I mean to say "indoctrination centers"...?)
