Is it just me, or does anyone else NOT want to see pictures of other people's intestinal parasites? [Eek!]

Maybe it is a good idea to split Medical into two sections: ILADS (conventional) and Deworming treatment.

Yes, I find it quite replusive discussing the examination of one's dooties and then posting pictures of what is found after sifting thru it.

I guess you would need a dedicated bathroom stool strainer?

I just don't understand where it has a place here. The only place it belongs is in the toilet bowl.

....The poo caucus is getting a bit tiresome isn't it??

Along with people waving screen door springs at groceries to find out what's in them.

I'm starting to think somebody put LSD in the doxy....

Many of us feeling like [puke] at these pictures. Unfortunately, they seem to have rather a "rock star" like following, which I think is being received very well by the poster.

The more people [bow] the more [toilet] I think we will be seeing.

GROSS!

Thanks Doomer, Charlie & Tracy for your replies and humor!

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who feels what happens in the toilet, should stay in the toilet. [Roll Eyes]

charlie, LOL! "I'm starting to think somebody put LSD in the doxy...."

Tracy, that is true about the rock star following....

Gives me the chance to use this rarely-used icon, which I reserve normally for the IDSA

I think one picture was okay but to continue daily posts with pictures is a bit much. [bonk]

I wish him well but personally, I've seen enough!!

Well, I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one . . . .

My first thought after seeing the first post was, "Gee, this is a little presumptuous. The poster is sure that everyone wants to see the contents of his bowels?"

I know I don't want to see it.

Then after reading the very apt remark here about "stardom," I had to laugh at it's accuracy. I couldn't help thinking that this is, indeed, a rather curious aspiration and dubious distinction for the poster vis-a-vis stardom.

Sorry folks, but sometimes I just have to laugh and find humor in order to deal with some stuff. It's a defense mechanism.

I would like to ask the poster to simply put a link to a photo album or photo bucket for those Forum members that are held in rapt fascination of this, uh, "process."

My problem is (and it most definitely is my problem, not anyone else's) -- I've allowed myself to become conditioned so that any post I now see from this poster makes me gag.

Yes, I vomited when I saw his first post and picture. I was sorry to lose the dose of medication and supplements I had taken prior to my gut-wrenching reaction.

I wish I could go to that thread and ask him nicely to just provide links to the photos. Unfortunately, I have allowed myself to become SO conditioned that even seeing the title of the threads now makes me gag and feel nauseous.

As Mary Poppins would say, "What a spot of bother!"

And just one more thing . . .

I would now like to change my vote on the issue of splitting the Medical Forum section up.

I had originally voted for everything to be kept together.

After seeing these posts, I now feel that my original vote was a big mistake.

Wish I could amend my vote and support the splitting of the Forums. lol

Hi Fuzz,

Yes, I totally agree! All these scatological posts, while being kind of funny, are totally gross!

Sorry to hear you lost your meds after the first viewing. I cannot bring myself to actually look at any of these photos or threads, but just seeing the topic titles advertising them are enough to make me queasy....And I felt the same way about changing my vote too!

Hopefully all those posts will get buried with the passage of time on lymenet.

Posted by northstar (Member # 7911) on :

Well, you can tell it is bad when even the usual
tactful Canadians are openly disparaging these events! Canlyme
does not have separate urls for topics, so one would have to go to their discussion forum and look for
the post.

The vote was not a true representation since
numerous posters of the more science orientation had
already stopped reading or posting. The voting group was pre-biased, in other words.

I have been hit and missin' it here on LN lately, but I did briefly "see" the poop post/thread in passing in medical . . . I never did click on it to read *anything* about what this poster had posted, and I'm a nurse, used to reading/viewing/smelling/handling/discarding poop! I've had 2 kids, handled poop until they were potty trained at 3 y.o., worked newborn nurseries for the 5 yrs I worked as a professional nurse in my given profession . . . yet, I could not get myself to even venture a big toe into this post!

I hate to say I Told You So, but I so did!

why is lymenet so backassward on subjects like "splitting the message board into two?"

I'm sure the fans of reading and visualizing via photos posted about someone's fecal problems would be quick to say "scroll on by" I can assure you that even those of use who are hardened old medical people would be grateful to not even feel the teeniest wee bit tempted to go on in and have a look, just to see if we could be of assistance, eh?
my 3 cents (I'm getting expensive in my old age:)

I just looked back on my first comment from several weeks ago on the thread "Splitting the Forum" where I said I thought splitting was a good idea before Lymenet became "The Salt-C Board". (No offense Salt-C folks, I just think it makes overall easier reading with 2 forums).

It really does look like a Salt-C Forum here now...especially to new lymies. [Roll Eyes]

I have to disagree with the majority on this one. I don't really think it's that gross, considering this is a medical site. And you are warned before clicking on it what's in it.

Yes, it would be nice if there were only one or two posts regarding this, so it didn't take up so much room on the first page.

My strong opinion is that the forums should have been split, but what's done is done, unfortunately.

But since people voted to not split the forums, the truth is that if someone wants to post their intestinal parasites, the appropriate category to post them under would be "Medical."

I'm more sick of people posting things that aren't medically related in Medical than people posting about Salt/C. At least the Salt/C people are putting their posts in the right category.

UNBELIEVABLE.

They say PHOTOS. Don't click on it if you think you can't take it. Or if you don't want to look at salt c threads. DON'T CLICK ON IT. What is so hard to understand about that? Seriously, I don't get it.

The truth is there are more Antibiotic threads than anything else. Salt C has few. I can't take Antibiotics but I don't complain about all the threads on here. I just politely skip over them.

I don't see where it says only antibiotic treatment can be discussed here. Or did I miss it some where?

Posted by Tracy9 (Member # 7521) on :

Just to clarify...they didn't say photos at first. That change was made in response to some people's requests. So when some of these comments were posted, the photos took one by surprise.

Posted by FuzzySlippers (Member # 13658) on :

Fancy, I don't know whether your question was rhetorical or not. It's my understanding that all treatment methods are currently discussed in Medical.

I'm unsure that a formal decision has actually been made by the Lymenet administration on whether an attempted split of Conventional Medical Discussions and Alternative/Complementary Discussions will take place.

A recent poll/vote was conducted by the Administrator here. But I think they still are in the processing of making a decision.

The topic of splitting the Forums, as you know, has come up alot over the years.

I now wish I'd made a vote for separate Forums. Having said that, it'll be hard for me to separate my questions or posts sometimes because I use both alternative/complementary and conventional medicine.

But anyway, when many of the posts in this thread were posted, the threads in question did not identify that photos were directly in the thread.

Posted by FancyRatFan (Member # 3088) on :

Oh. I saw photos in topic. Mabe I missed the other ones that could be.

Although, the one photo in topic that was fake but did not indicate fake but did indicate PHOTO. One or more people who complained about the photos still clicked on that one. And didn't complain about it. I guess because it was fake. I don't get it.

Since it has caused such a problem and a small portion are complaining about it and taking up space to do so. I'm for 4 separate forums.

One for Antibiotics, one for alternative treatments, one for both and the last to complain. If the first three would stop the complaining than I would vote for the first 3. But I doubt it.

This is exactly what the post said from the very beginning....

"Picture of first Salt/c Die off Worms Inside This Post."

It's just pretty clear that people don't want to hear about salt/c or "see" what could be causing us to be so sick.

I know some of the pictures were shocking to some, but sometimes we need to be jolted awake as to what is a MAJOR problem with this disease.

Gary is a medical person and therefore probably didn't really think it was that shocking. I know his intentions were to help wake people up.

You can actually count every single day how many posts there are about antibiotics. It's just out of balance folks.

Hey, the Deworming treatment could be a new look for the IDSA. If it is seen as the answer to our ills, then long-term antibiotics would be considered unnecessary or harmful.

I agree the pictures have some shock value and may be a distraction. Who developed this treatment anyway?

It may be a valuable treatment, but I don't see those promoting it describing possible risks associated with it.

Posted by glm1111 (Member # 16556) on :

Hi Pigwit,

There has been info posted on the salt/c threads. It is considered safe if you use sea salt and ramp up slowly. Salt is a natural bacteriocide.

It is only considered risky for people with pre-existing conditions such as diabetes and people that are salt sensitive.

Of course always consult your doctor. Seek a LN member who has a history of high blood pressure has stated that his pressure has come down significantly since starting it.

There seems to be a connection between infection and high blood pressure. I am not against antibiotics, they have saved my life in the past. The salt/c is doing that now.

I on the other hand I am not on other threads bashing antibiotics, so I guess I don't understand why people have a need to do that with salt/c. This happens to be a very powerful protocol.

Hope this is helpful,

Gael

Forgot to answer your question as to who originated the protocol

www.lymephotos.com

I originally found it here on Lymenet in 2006

glm111, I checked the lymephotos website to get more background on who developed the salt/c protocol.

I understood it to say the protocol was developed by anononymous individuals associated with the website. Also, that none of the individuals currently associated with the site are medical professionals.

When they say something is "considered safe", it would be nice to know who determined that.

dear vermont-

me thinketh your "Eek and Yuck--Worm Pics!!" post is being buried in a salty retort that has not a thing to do with what you were saying.

No Problem DP..I was just responding to pigwits question.

Also responding to the question of whether the words Picture or Photo was posted on Garys original post..He is not here to defend himself.

It was....soooo be my guest and go back to eek and yuk gossip if that's what turns you on. It's so productive and certainly will help us find answers. just saying..

I give Gary tons of credit for posting the pictures. And I give Deb and Gael credit for the salt/c thread.

They all have been very helpful information.

Posted by pigwit (Member # 9059) on :

It is great that Gary, Deb, and glm1111 provided the information about salt/c and parasites. I still have a couple of questions though.

Why do the individual(s) who developed the protocol want to remain anonymous? Was there any research to determine it is safe and effective?

Pigwit

Hi Pigwit,

I don't know the answer to that. I know Gael has alot of links for information. She should be around soon.

Hiya everyone ....

Ah, antibiotics have gotten me well enough (from being disabled and severely ill) to work, so I have not been around for a few days very much.

Dills Hiya! [hi] Nice to see, and I hope you and yours are very well. You are right, and because of that I probably will be deleting the thread eventually. Oh, the power of the thread originator!

I do not have time to respond to everyone's post, much as I would like to.

But I'd like to give a shout out to J. Julie -- you did tell us so, I remember!

Meg, LOL. [Big Grin]

As for Salt/C; it is potentially dangerous for people. Those interested should consider the alternatives, speak with your doctor first, and use it with caution if proceeding.

*Most importantly for me and for many lymenetters, it just will not cure neuroborreliosis. I think that is why many of us are here, for lyme disease.*

Will it help some with intestinal mega-parasites? Probably, but so do other treatments that might be safer.

But I still do not want to see the evidence, and yes, just all the thread titles were nauseating!

Wishing everyone good health.

[Cool]

Posted by glm1111 (Member # 16556) on :

I had severe neuroborrelia, babs, bart and erlichia. I am almost in complete remission using salt/c. I took 4yrs of antibiotics and 6 mos of IV rocephin and it almost killed me.

It is no secret how dangerous long term antibiotic therapy can be. Making fun of someone because they are on a different protocol is just not kind.

The strange part about all of this, is that Gary and I were both trained in Allopathic medicine. When appropriate it can save lives.

I have no ill will towards anybody and only wish you all good health. If you want to delete this thread that would be fine. Actually it would be good.

Gael

Just pointing out, this thread is in "off topic" and was just about a few people having trouble with some pictures. It isn't about bashing salt/c. Why turn it into more than it is?

If you can't talk about this in off topic, then where can you?
