we had really bad storms here- tree on the house that knocked down a chimney no hot water for a week... we dont usually get weather like this.

Some have said using a public adjuster will ensure you get what you need to repair all damages..because the insurance company is only looking out to save themselves money---adjuster has already caused me huge headaches over very minor things!! .right now it looks like for sure there is water damage as well- ,

the tree and chimney were on the roof for 4 days after the storm..so probably structural damage as well.

Sounds like it would be a good idea to hire one unless they are extremely expensive. We had roof damage once and had no trouble with the insurance company taking care of it adequately.

Sorry to hear about the damage!!

yea, there is a fee, but the insurance adjuster is not at all concerned about damage...just wants to patch and repair...more damage found tonite. I barely have AC units as their covers were torn off with the hail and high winds.

we had 95mph winds that just took trees and threw them onto roofs.

I havent even gotten to the claim for my car yet!

If I had to do it again, I'd hire a professional.

I hope they're not still pulling that "ACT of God" crap.

Just to clarify-I don't think God is crap-but I think blaming God for damage to your house is.

still getting rain into the house with each storm..the roofers cant seem to figure out where the water is coming in from...as they patched what they could see. and the chimney is open as it has not been restored yet, so water could be pouring in thru there.

JR- they havent tried the Act of God crap yet, maybe since this area was declared a state of emergency they couldnt?

my neighbor had that problem one time though when his tree fell on a neighbor's car, and his insur company wouldnt pay.

However- I am sure they will be trying to wiggle their way out of paying for this water damage that occured after the first storm!
