It's always a better day when we take some time to laugh!
What's your favorite comedy?
Mine's Drop Dead Fred. "Cobwebs?" - Anybody seen it? It's a hoot! Laugh out loud - literally.
Anyway, I figured this belonged in General Support because laughter is the best medicine. I t lightens the load and allows good feelings in. It's tough to feel good when you are in pain. Comedy is a release!
If I can see my son smile and forget that he is sick, even for just one minute, that makes my day! I each of you has a good laugh today!
Did I make you smile?

you know with all this stuff i don't think anything is funny anymore.
but i do enjoy "shaun the sheep". it's on disney channel. it's one of those wallace & grommit claymation things.
it's absolutely hysterical.
and yes, it's for children. of all ages...

Thanks Randi! Love Wallace & Grommit... we'll have to watch that one.
My son just got a picc line inserted... no plans tomorrow but sitting around waiting for a home health aide. It's time for a laugh. Posted by Elaine G (Member # 20735) on :
Well, for TV, The Nanny re-runs. Of course, the Golden Girls.
Can't seem to get a laugh out of anything new on TV.

I love The Nanny -reruns and all. I never watched it before, I worked evenings.
Liking mike & Molly (or vise a versa) little risque at times though
The Big Bag Theory is cute too.

Modern Family. We all find it hysterical. <And I don't find many things funny these days.>
The Nanny, Golden Girls, Seinfeld are classics and very funny.
But for me along with Modern Family, my vote would be for the old-time comedies, like I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners.

Alana, I forgot about that one (Modern Family) & I make sure to watch it every Wed.

We missed it this past Wednesday. We'll catch it in a repeat. I haven't seen Mike and Molly, but I will find when/what time it airs and check it out.
I also used to love the Carol Burnett variety show. They were so funny...Harvey Korman, Tim ??, and the other lady.
Old SNL episodeds were pretty funny too, but these days not so much. I can't remember all their names..Chevy Chase, Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin...who else?
Posted by AlanaSuzanne (Member # 25882) on :
Tim Conway, Vicky Lawrence, Lyle Waggoner

And from SNL, my all-time favorites:
Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Maya Rudolph, Molly Shannon, Chris Farley, Mike Myers, Colin Quinn, Jon Lovitz, Phil Hartman, Billy Crystal and Cheri Oteri.

AHH SNL, Those were the years, those were the stars...Gosh, I've gotten so old.

Modern Family is the BEST!

That's the Halloween episode. Hilarious. I used to love Halloween. This Halloween was tough. My son went trick or treating in a wheelchair, got a picc line the next day. He is storing his candy in the freezer so he can eat it when he gets better.
Randibear - I know what you mean by not much to laugh about. I have been trying to hold it in how overwhelmed I get, this morning I broke down and cried. Now it seems I can't stop. Better go watch more comedy.
Apparently, I am older than the rest of you. By the time Tina Fay and that crew was on, I had young children and didn't watch much SNL anymore.
I liked the older SNL's Gilda Radner, Joe Piscopo, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and Chevy Chase.
And Carol Burnett -- I had a professor in college that walked just like Tim Conway, for real! It was hard not laughing as he took 5 minutes to get to the chalk board. I hated that class. It was dead silent so if you burst out laughing you'd be caught. lol

OH YES!!! Gilda Radner, Tim Conway, Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, Bob Hope, Jack Benny....
I saw Tim Conway on stage with Tom Posten (?) They did that routine with the dentist where Tim injects himself with novacaine (in his leg). WAY, WAY, too funny!!!
--- Reruns:
Becker Andy Griffith

BTW, I watched the last 5 episodes of Modern Family on hulu. That show is hilarious.
Laughter is like therapy... I have to stop or I'm going to wake the house with my laughter.

I really like Modern Family. Doesn't make me laugh out loud, but I will smile. And I'll take whatever I can get.
I like that show with Charlie Sheen (something about Men) but the name is in the black hole of my mind.
And always, Spongebob Squarepants. I can't explain the whys of that one, lol....

Men, men, men, men, men, me, me, men, men...meeeeeeeen. Two and a half men. Hilarious!
Love all the suggestions. Keep them coming!
My son had a real crying jag today and comedy was the turning point.
Thanks everyone!

Heather, you're welcome! That show cracks me up and there aren't many these days that do that.
Sorry to hear about your son going trick-or-treating in a wheelchair. That sucks, as does him getting a picc the next day. Hopefully the neighbors/friends were at least compassionate given his situation. I hope his picc is OK.
We've had a couple of sucky (is there another word to describe it?) Halloweens. Your little guy is smart to store his goodies in the freezer for when he feels better.
And, yeah about the crying, well go on ahead and cry. You aren't alone in that department. Wish I had a buck for each tear I've shed.
Oh and not to worry, I guarantee you aren't nearly as old as I am. I am a fossil.
How funny that you had a professor that reminded you of Tim Conway. I'd be the one in class who would burst out laughing. And I'd have been the one thrown out of class because I couldn't control my laughter.
It would have been 5th grade all over again. Yep. That was me: F's when it came to "self-control" and A's in the academics. At least back then despite the strict Irish nuns and teachers, there was a certain appreciation for humor eventhough they didn't really let on.
So Heather, you young-in, do you remember Cheri Oteri?

Our pastor said today in Sunday School that he watches this when he needs a good laugh! We all had the sillies today at SS. It was pretty funny. (had to have been there! )
+++++++++
I like "Friends" and "Becker" reruns. Golden Girls too ... and Andy Griffith...did I already say that up above??

I think Wedding Crashers was hilarious, plus Isla Fischer is the most beautiful whack job I've ever seen.
