I'm thinking about putting my jewelry on www.etsy.com ...
and I have some questions about the taxes
Does anyone know how that works? I think they take out taxes, but I wondered if you still have to fill out forms for your state at the end of the year... or is it all "done?"
I'm not talking about income tax.. but the sales/use tax. I think that's the term.

Hey,
I used to be on etsy, Its a really great website, and you can actually sell stuff unlike some of those ecommerce shopping cart sites, which offer nothing to you, etsy is viewed by so many people who want to buy the stuff you make! its also very easy to promote, because they have so many helpful resources, you can always check out their seller handbook.
I might see you over there, I did very well before but then my day job was getting in the way, but I can't really do "day job" right now.
Best Wishes!
PM me if you want to talk more!
~John

I have an etsy account but haven't set it up yet. If you learn anything, I hope you will share it.

oooh I wouldn't try to sell on craigslist, at least not regularly, it can be good if you need to sell one item, but you can get ripped off/have sketchy people contacting you constantly

Randi.. Right now I want to put my angel pins on there. I make all kinds of jewelry, but have been limiting it to angels for quite awhile.
I have a market for them here, but would like to have them online too. I've had trouble getting supplies and recently found a source for some parts that I previously hadn't been able to get.
I had been afraid to put them online and then be asked to make more than what I'm ready for!
I also do beading and recently learned how to do those "floating" bead necklaces.
I wish I still had the makings for some of my very unique bracelets I used to make! But I do have beads, so anything like that I would be able to do.
I gave up doing the bracelets when China got into the market! They can make them way cheaper than I can!!
John... I'll contact you!
What do you make??
PS.. to randi .. etsy is for hand-made items
