ya'll know my history on my car.

well, hubs has finally agreed to let me have a car of my own!! he said doesn't matter what it is but as long as i have what i want.

i've narrowed it down to two -- ford focus and honda accord. i'm leaning toward the accord since i've already had one.

i don't know much about the ford focus.

anybody know anything about either one? i had wonderful luck with my 2004 accord and that's the only experience i have, but nothing with fords.

We've only ever had Hondas. We love them.

You might check out Consumer Reports. Beyond that it comes down to the feel of the car, the fit, and the maneuverability.

You should probably test drive both a couple of times each.

I currently have a 2005 Ford Focus. Have had it about 4yrs. No problems, runs good and gets decent gas mileage.

Can't comment on Honda cause we have only driven Fords here. I researched the Focus before I bought it and felt it was a good fit for me.

Good luck with your decision!

Personally, I'd go with neither.

Presently, the Nissan Altima is king "over-all." Test drive one if you're considering the other two. You won't be disappointed.

In light of discussions in your previous threads, whatever you decide, be sure the title and registration are both in YOUR name, solely.

if your asking for opinion ill give u mine [Wink]

i hate fords. i currently have 3 american trucks and will never buy a ford again. in the 90's i had an engine blow up with under 50k miles do to a defect during the manufacturing process. they refused to pay for the repair. cost me 2k. there was a class action law suit against them for it.

everyone i know who has had hondas like them emensely.

Definitely take a test drive with all the cars that you are considering.

A friend of mine recently bought a new 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Oh my gosh I loved driving it! And it has such a nice sporty look to it. You should check it out. This friend was a loyal Honda owner until another family member got a Hyundai.

My sister and mom have older Hyundai's (Sonata and Elantra). They both love their cars, fun to drive, comfortable to ride in, and reliable.

I should add that my family and friends have had many different types of cars including Fords, Hondas, and Toyotas. So I'm not biased to any brand.

Check out all your options. And have fun shopping!

I've had both. Liked them both.

We've have our Focus for seven years now. It's got 169,000 miles on it and is still going strong.

I loved my 11 year old Honda Accord which got totalled last year.

My niece is an engineer for the Ford Focus engine and I thought I should give Ford my business, but this was during the Cash for Clunkers time and there were no Focuses to be found.

The Accord had grown in the years since I bought mine, so I settled for the Civic and really like it.

If you want the bigger size, I'd get the Ford Fusion. It's comparable to the Accord, and rated even better and is less expensive.

I just didn't want to go that big.

My niece said the Civic was a good car and would last much longer than the Focus.

Hondas are wonderful in my opinion. My mother has a Honda Accord and loves it. My grandparents have owned nothing but Accords over the years and swear by them. They are quite reliable.
