We have 3 Elves/Elfs?sp for our 3 girls. Their "magic" starts the morning after Thanksgiving.
If you are familiar with what I am talking about I could use some help.
If you are not, here's the DL. Basically they become magic and are alive while the child is asleep. They play tricks, some nice, some not so nice. Last year one of ours made cookies and made a flour snow angel in the middle of the floor.
Another time they made paper snowflakes and it was a HUGE mess.
It's alot of fun for us parents, but I'm afraid my thinking cap isn't screwed on as tight these days hindering my creativity.
We have done this for 2 years already and I need some fresh ideas.

Elves .. yes!
Is this something you do every day?? Whew!!
Give them a small item somewhere in their rooms.. like a cute pencil or Christmas erasers?
When you run out of ideas, just do something like that.
How about hanging paper garland over their doors or hang a round one over their doorknobs?
Man... I'm stumped. Tell me a few more things you've done so I can get a better idea of what they "expect."

It doesn't have to be everyday. Thank goodness! I'm too tired and jumbled to be that creative! They leave Thanksgiving night to go back to Santa's Workshop to help make presents. When they're done they reappear and start their magic. I did the two things mentioned above. Other things are like when I wrapped their room. Seran wrapped their bedroom door. Sometimes it is simple though. Like leaving a letter (in child-like writing) Or in the living room asleep after staying up all night watching TV. I do about 2-3 a week till after Christmas. Their magic starts to fade.

how about gluing the kleenex together in a section??
take an old coloring book and glue the pages together, or an old reading book.
rearrange their closet and put shoes in their pockets...
put red or green lightbulbs in their bedroom lights.
leave a plate of cookie crumbs out and say "who took all the cookies" after you make some and hide the rest...

You could also mismatch all their shoes.
Hang some clothes inside out!
Put some wrapped goodies or a toy on their beds at night? or do they sleep wildly?

I LOVE the shoes in the pockets. Well, our Elf is back as of this morning. My daughter LOVES Takis (chips) and so Chloe (the elf) left her some on the kitchen counter this morning to go in her lunch. She was soooo excited. So now the magic begins.
