Sometimes a website address is very long and complicated, like the link that would get you directly to the spot in the Lymenet library with Dr. B's guidelines (cut up here onto multiple lines so it fits in the window): http://library.lymenet.org/domino/file.nsf/
bbf2f15334c1f28585256613000317cc/
9c1ac876bb7897f5852568ec0056eb02?OpenDocument

Well, there's a way around that.

If we put in a couple of UBB codes, we can make it just like 'normal' web links that hide all that stuff and give you a name of what you're going to.

Here's the code - the red part is the code, the green parts are the particulars for your link:

what you want to display here

so for a short example, to make a link to my website
the address is: www.omsoft.com/danq/index.htm
so we would code that as:

Dan's Website

and that would come out like this:

Dan's Website

now we can do that with the Guidelines:

Dr. Burrascano's 2000 Guidelines

Dang,Thanks.

I'll come back to this one next week when I have more time to concentrate on it. I just wanted to let you know that I've seen it (glanced at it).

Thanks for pulling it back up to the top, so I'll know what to look for when I get ready to study it "at my own speed."

Danq,

Why can't I get this to work in an e-mail even if I have HTML access?? I use mozilla as a browser and mail composer, I have a screen where I can see all the HTML code in the e mail it looks like this:

http-equiv="content-type">

I figured it should have been easy but then I couldn't do it so now it's bugging me, any help??

Thanks

James

You can't get it to work in your email because what I've shown in the original post here isn't HTML - it's "UBB code", specific to some bulletin boards.

The HTML equivalent is:

<a href="www.yourplace.here">Your Website Name</a>

Dan
