I hope somebody will come along and tell me what is going on with my mouse. It darts everywhere except for where I want it!!. Trying to click on the up arrow on bottom right of page is an endless game of cat and mouse trying to get it to stay there long enough to click it. Have to wiggle it clear from top, almost get down to there and flip, its gone to top again!! I realize I am puter stupid but this really bugs me. It is getting much worse as time goes by also. I have one of those with a red light underneath and NO ball thingee. HELP? PLEASE???How do I get this thing to settle down???Its like its on drugs.--just don--, and not good ones Posted by alliebridge (Member # 9103) on :
You could try slowing down the mouse/pointer speed.
All programs, control panel, printer & other hardware, mouse, pointer options, pointer speed-change to slow.
Of course doing all of this with your crazy mouse may prove difficult.
If it doesn't work--maybe it's the mouse's battery???

Plus it may be dirty flip it over and you will see a circle where the ball is located screw the plate off ball falls out look at the little rollers they buld up junk on them use a qtip dipped in alcohol wipe them off good put ball back in and plate back on see if that stops it.

Don,
I had the ball type of mouse and fought with it for a long time.
Then, this guy came over who volunteered to clean my computer.
He noticed how my mouse was working.
He brought back something I had never seen before while being housebound with lyme.
I think he called it a lazer mouse. It has view sonic written on the front and a red light where the ball was on my old mouse.
It has made a world of difference. I have had it some time now and have not had any problems. I am so thankful I am no longer fighting with my old mouse.
I don't know how much it costs. Hope you can get one and your mouse problems will be a thing of the past.

Thanks for the replies all of you good folk,
My mouse IS the red laser type and has NO ball rolling around. Always worked great now getting old and tired. Like ME!!
I used to have a wireless keyboard too but it caused more problems than it solved!!

Don, go to walmart or comp USA and get a new mouse. Ours did that same nonsense after awhile. Unfixable.
Mouses are cheap...frustration takes it's toll.... but then you get to stomp the old one.(not barefoot)
(wonder if that mouse got pivotosis?)

Charlie, He seems to have caught the 'racing' version of pivitosis. Like I always say, IF I can touch it, I can surely break it!!!!
