Hi all - I think I just got 2000 bike riders protected with tick repellent for an MS bike ride fundraiser happening soon in our area (SF bay area).
I had a long talk with MS national hdqtrs about the tick problem, so they've offered to alert all riders as well as have tick repellent available for the ride!!
So here's what I'm suggesting. I believe the fall is when a lot of organization fundraiser bike rides/walks occur, and many of them travel through vegetation.
So to contact any that you see advertised in flyers/posters/notices, check on the travel route and then discuss how to get everyone protected if they're going to be exposed to vegetation. And/or if they are also bringing their dogs along.

Would like to add that the idea was suggested to me by a local activist who tabled at an earlier area bike ride fundraiser event.

Sounds great I wonder if they might let you or a lyme group do a table with info and pass out waters. A Lyme group here in NH did that at a Triathalon recently. Just a thought.
