My doctors have all agreed to give a presentation on lyme disease at our community hospital. Even my very well known LLMD has agreed to speak. One doctor is my psychiatrist (she said she knows that some of her patients are actually lyme patients that think they are crazy...she has been reading everything I sent her and this presentation was her idea.
The other doctor who has signed up is my pain doctor who treats many neuro illnesses and diseases. She is delighted at my progress and upset that the hospital did not test me for lyme when I was there for 6 weeks in 2003. She wants to get the word out locally about lyme diagnosis.
I am still looking for another doctor, but my husband suggests that we may be overdoing it with too many speakers. The focus should be on encouraging and teaching doctors how to diagnose lyme disease and to explain what a devestating illness it is and how it goes undetected for years.
Any suggestions? Agenda? More speakers???
