PLEASE NOTE: Your insurance denial letter should make reference to denial of treatment which goes beyond accepted Guidelines...or words to that effect!

posting this here with permission:
See snail mail address, email for AG at the bottom.

Everyone,
I was contacted to help get information for Attorney General Blumenthal's investigation into the conflict of interest between IDSA treatment guidelines for Lyme disease and insurance companies.

I am looking for letters from insurance companies that would contain information that states that treatment was denied for lyme disease or any information from insurance companies questioning a diagnosis of lyme disease, etc. I would be happy to remove any personal information and keep the letters anonymous at your request.

If you have any info, please contact me and then we can discuss the best way in which to send me the information.

Thank you for your help in this very important issue.

nan, it has to be a LETTER from insurance company right? i get DENIED EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS; so they would NOT apply. they do NOT send out letters, only these EOB!

I recently sent in last 2-3 weeks my APPEAL TO BCBS for $3800. who knows WHEN they will respond to that. also copied iowa's insurance commissioner's office, market regulation bureau's attorney was copied! [Wink]

Gee Wiz. I hope I still have that information. I think I do. I will dig it out today. It was the second half of 2002 and first half of 2003 that I fought that battle and R.B. helped me out getting coverage. It was a hard battle.

As far as I know once Blumenthal started the investigation Insurance Industry took a kinder way towards Lymies and they were just a few refusal. However, when the investigation is closed and results remain inconclusive they can do whatever they want with us.

That letter was addressed to a lady in charge of a Lyme Group, so I guess that's why she asked that people get in touch with her.

I posted the AG's snail mail address and email so they could be sent directly to him.

If you have a letter, dig it out and mail it. The more letters he gets the better he can show how the IDSA Guidelines are preventing treatment.

I will try to get in touch with this gal and make sure it's okay to send them as I suggested.
Stay tuned.

We contacted the AG office to make sure this was what they wanted, and they said they had not asked for letters but if anyone thinks they have relevant information, they will take a look.

Sent my letter in this week to Blumenthal's office with a thank you for doing this for all of us.

WE are moving to Switzerland in just a few days now. I had surgery 4 weeks ago, and took one day in bed then got up to start cleaning out the house for packing.

Now I'm so tired I can't seem to get beyond it. Wipe out!
