Hi all - Codex Alimentarius is an international food trade agreement begun in 1963 by the WHO and FAO, which set the date of December 31, 2009 by which global access to supplements and nutrients will be stopped or severely limited.

They are treating nutrients as toxins and as such, subjecting them to the same LD(lethal dose) measurement standards as toxic chemicals, and out of that, coming up with ridiculously low amounts allowable and by prescription only.

Countries can opt out of Codex with their own legislation and guidelines.

We have DSHEA, the Dietary Supplements Health Education Act, passed in 1994, which protects supplements.

Bills always get introduced to try to weaken it; they will be closely watched this year and public actions called for if needed.

One organization working to protect our supplement usage is www.healthfreedomusa.org. They have a Citizen's Petition, which can be found on the right under "Act Now" at the bottom of the list there.

By signing, you will be telling the USDA and FDA that we do not want Codex here.

There is an additional action to take now, if we so desire: in these ten days, from January 5-15, 2009, we can vote Health Freedom to become a top national health choice, to be presented to President Obama at his inauguration.

Besides access to supplements, health freedom also includes foods that are free of GMOs, pesticides and other chemicals, irradiation, etc. Plus no forced vaccines.

Go to www.change.org/ideas/view/health_freedom
to vote.
