The 2nd call for action does involve those who

have Lyme disease, were once treated for Lyme

disease or who were ever treated for suspected

Lyme while living in North Carolina.

Dave Tierney will be presenting data which shows

infection rates of Blacklegged ticks collected in

Onslow County of 35% positive for Bb, the

bacteria which causes Lyme disease. Furthermore,

data from the ARMY received last week shows that

the Blacklegged ticks in North Carolina do bite

humans, a condition the state DPH says that does

not occur in our state. Since the DPH will not

acknowledge the proven high risk for contracting

Lyme disease in our state, Mr. Tierney will go

before Senators and Congressmen during early May

Your names will show just how many residents are

affected by this disease. If you've had Lyme or

suspected Lyme please copy and e-mail the

following questions back to Dave:

Name: ________________________________________ (if you do not desire to give full name use initials for last)

City or Town in North Carolina: ______________________________
County: _________________________________

Did you have to travel outside North Carolina to
be diagnosed or treated? ____________

Any other commits pertaining to how difficult it was for you to be diagnosed/treated. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________

Send this info to [email protected] prior to May

5th Thank you! Ps. tell your friends too as we

are trying to get upwards of 300 residents who

have or have had Lyme disease prior to the May

5th deadline!
