Hi all!
It seems daily I read about so and so's PM message box being FULL, and folks can't send things privately to you.

We all receive these directly into our HOME PRIVATE IN-BOX. So that is the perfect place to FILE them if you want to keep them ok.

I started a folder for myself called LYMENET FRIENDS, and now have 200 messages in there myself.

But the thing I discovered several weeks is this:
***********************************************

I KEEP one of the PMs in my HOME FILE FOLDER, and then I still can access ALL the replies after that !

So when I get your PM to me, and I file it in my LYMENET FRIENDS folder, I then click on the link taking me to your PM in LYMENET.

I'll reply to it if need be; otherwise, I DELETE IT.

Now because I've saved the OTHER copy in my HOME FOLDER, I can still access it any time I want and READ ALL THE COMMENTS even taking place after I deleted it from my lymenet PM folder!
Does this make sense to you?

Main thing is we are limited to 60 messages here.
*******************************************

Our HOME FOLDERS are UNLIMITED EXCEPT for the amount of capacity each of our systems allow.

I hope this will help you all out so PMs can get thru to you without using the board to send them to you all. Bettyg [Big Grin] [group hug] [kiss]

Okay, I don't get it.

The HOME PRIVATE IN-BOX or HOME FILE FOLDER that you are talking about - is this in your home computer mailroom (Outlook or whatever you are using)? Is that what you are saying?

Okay, assuming that is true, then I still don't see how you can access replies made after you delete it from your LymeNet PM area.

I'm dense, Betty. Can you explain this a little more to me?

(BTW, I tried dumping the link to the message into a Word document, deleting the message from my LymeNet PM box, then tried using the link from my Word doc, and it said - appropriately - that it couldn't find that message. So, obviously this isn't what you were saying)

Tracy,

Let me try an experiment with you ok!

I said this the best my neuro lyme mind would allow me to say it ok.

I'm going to send you a PM now ... test note only and NO info in the text box for a demo only.

What home address to you use: YAHOO, AOL, ETC?

Whichever it is, it is THAT IN-BOX MAIL I suggest you create a FOLDER called LYMENET FRIENDS OR whatever you wish to call it.

Create the file first ok!

Now on the TEST note I'm sending you by PM.
FILE IT IN THAT FOLDER.

Go to lymenet's MY PROFILE and bring up the note YOU replied back to me. DELETE THAT NOTE.

Now go back to your yahoo/hotmail, etc.HOME EMAIL SYSTEM.

Go to the FILE FOLDER you created for lymenet KEEP messages.

Click on that note. At the bottom, click on the link that takes you to our PRIVATE MESSAGES IN LYMENET.

You will now have accessed a note/reply you DELETED from YOUR PM BOX IN LYMENET.

I hope this worked for you. I suggest printing off these instructions so you can find them easily as you keep your PM BOX CLEANED OUT.

Now. I'll send you my PM so you can start doing this.

I'm going to copy this note/paste it to your TEST DEMO so you have ALL the instructions without looking for my post ok! Bettyg [Big Grin]

Uh *yawn* let me wake up for awhile and read this again to see if something sticks.

I got notified that you sent me a PM.

I still don't understand how you can later access a PM "thread" that no longer exists, especially if both people have deleted the message from their Profile/PM area. How can that be possible? Is it magic? [Big Grin]

Okay, let me wake up a bit and see if that helps.

Thanks Betty -

Okay, Betty, I think I did what you suggested. I replied to your "test" PM, but I have my notification from LymeNet moved into a new folder in my mailroom. I deleted the PM (reply) that I sent back to you.

Okay, now if you delete the "test" PM from your LymeNet Pprofile area, and I can still access it from my new folder on my computer, then I am going to go crazy trying to figure out how that can possibly work! [Eek!] If both parties have deleted it from their Profile area, then it shouldn't exist! [bonk]

Tracy, I just answered your PM and sent it to you.
I deleted my reply to you from my PM box.

Now you should be able to access it as I stated.
But give your brain a rest and consider this a David Copperfield moment, and just enjoy it for what it is worth! lol [Big Grin] Bettyg

Betty,

Well, this actually seemed to work.... UNTIL I cleaned out my cookies and Internet temp files, and now it our latest PM message thread can't be found.....

Do you clean our your cookies and temp files on a regular basis?

This is the only thing I can think of that caused the problem. [Frown]

Have any of you tried my suggestion besides Tracy?

Did you have any problems? If yes, I'd like to hear about this please.

If it doesn't work for many of you, I will delete ALL my posts I posted on all sections of lymenet ok. Bettyg [Big Grin]

Truthfinder/Tracy found a glitch in my suggestion. I'm giving you the short version here. Thank you Tracy; [group hug] [kiss]

I've been busy helping folks on SSDI, disability apps/questions.

My suggestion will work as long as you do NOT delete cookies or temporary files .

When you delete them, it affects beng able to read the ENTIRE thread ! [Frown]

You can read only the message you saved in YOUR regular mail box at home! But this beats the limit of 60 messages in lymenet's PM box vs. your home personal file folder. You'll just have to file only those PMs IMPORTANT to you !

Will try to find my other threads tomorrow & get them changed. Bettyg [Big Grin]
