I'm looking to get back into the probiotic game now that I'm fighting candida hard again.
I've taken a number of probiotic brands/varieties in the past and I'm not sure what to use this time.
I've used Theralac in the past (could tell that it was strong - made me herx pretty badly I think). I'm inclined to go back to Theralac but it's rather pricey so before making that purchase, I'd like to know what other people have used or are using in their probiotic regimen as well as results, cost, etc, etc.
thanks!

I know that pills are easier for most people, but I also like to take probiotic foods: -yogurt -kefir -non-pasteurized sauerkraut (which is very high in acidophilus) -rejuvelac
In my signature there's a link to a thread where I talked about how to make these. We've also discussed this in the forums at www.planetthrive.com , and there are other recipes listed there for some of the stuff (like kraut in particular)
Rejuvelac in particular is very easy to make, and I find that it's extremely potent compared to the cheap health-food-store acidophilus I used to take (I've never bought theralac, though).

Certainly one may. All you have to do is do a "search" on this topic of favorite probiotic, to see that is not true.
You may have misconstrued the policy of recommending a brand named product in which one has a monetary affiliation (i.e. you sell it on the side, or you are a distributor, owner/manufacturer, etc.).
There is a difference between personal use/experience and being a seller, etc.

The only one I've tried is Florajen. So far I've

Theralac 1 per day Store bought brand (one with a few billion that requires refrigeration) 5 per day Organic/raw sauerkraut 1-2 fork fulls /day
This has worked for me so far.
BTW, you mentioned that you tried Theralac and that it made you herx. Could you provide more details? I'm not sure that I understand how that would be possible unless it instantaneously made your gut so efficient that it made the ABX work that much better. I suppose that that's possible, but I'm finding it hard to understand.

I take Theralac probiotics. And I think it's important to take S. Boulardii, too - I get mine from vitacost.com.
I didn't know we weren't supposed to post brand names? ...I'm not affiliated with Theralac, just like their product. Nor am I affiliated with vitacost. If I need to remove the names, let me know and I'll edit.

unless something drastically changed at lymenet in the last few weeks, I don't think there's a problem with posting brand names . They do get mad at you if you promote some product you're selling yourself, though.

the herxes I had from Theralac were candida related and not lyme.... I'm no longer on abx of any kind for lyme/bart related problems.
