I don't take it, but have heard of it, and I know it contains 45% alcohol, more than vodka. So that would be my concern, depending on how much was prescribed. I know Lyme patients are supposed to avoid alcohol. I don't know if a little is okay.

I just started taking it. I took a teaspoon this afternoon, and I am supposed to work up to three teaspoons.
I felt like crap tonight, and I know it was this since it was the only thing I have added in a while.

I just ordered some yesterday for my husband, at LLMD's recommendation. It won't arrive till next week, so no feedback yet.
From LLMD's description, it's a mixture of some of the Buhner herbs for Lyme and bart. I remember he mentioned teasel, red root, and boneset; don't know what else is in there, but all of those are good stuff.
Will let you know how it goes.
Hope the crappy feeling means it's killing lots of bugs for you.
Best, Viva

Lea, 3 teaspoons = 1/2 ounce. A standard shot is 1 1/2 ounces. So 3 teaspoons per day of BLT would be like 1/3 shot of vodka, except a little bit more since it is 45% alcohol instead of 40%.
Of course this is broken up into 3 times per day, instead of all at once. So that probably makes a difference.

We must have the same LLMD. I've been taking it for about a month and have also felt like crap recently. I don't even know what's in it, is there boneset? That is what made me feel like crap last time...ugh...maybe time to quit.

Bumping this back up, since ours finally arrived yesterday.
Ingredients:
red root teasel boneset black walnut hulls lomatium dissectum (?) smilax (aka sarsaparilla) stillengia sylvatica (?)
alcohol content 40-45%
Website: clinicalresponseformulas.com (must call to order)
Can anyone give an update on how you're doing with it? Positive effects and what herxes are like?
Husband just started on 5 drops today, and is feeling crappy, but that may be a Rocephin herx.

Considering the excellent ingredients, I am not concerned about the alcohol content.
For some tinctures, it has to be higher to preserve the product. It is important for the contents of the bottle to not rot. Alcohol is what keeps them at their best strength.
You can mix with water - even a 1/2 cup or more.
Most doses are less than 30 drops at the highest dose so even 14 drops of alcohol in 1/2 cup of water may be okay (although one LLMD with whom I consult prefers avoiding alcohol tinctures for patients with liver problems - but tinctures have more strength than raw herbs).
You can put the drops in a flat porcelain spoon - like used for soup in Chinese restaurants. Do not put in plastic, though. I guess you could also put the drops in the bottom of a glass cup first, swirl around for a minute or more before adding your water.
Exposure to the air, swirling, will help some of the alcohol lift off.
I don't know about trying to dissipate the alcohol with hot water, as for some herbs, heat can destroy the properties. You can ask the prescribing provider about that - or call the company.

Lomatium is excellent. Absolutely excellent. Smilax, too.
Gotta rest.
I'll look at this in more detail later on but I am familiar with all the ingredients. It looks good at first glance.
(Never take any tinctures with flagyl, though, until consulting your doctor. Even a tiny amount of alcohol with flagyl can cause problems.)
And, I'd never take alcohol tinctures on an totally empty stomach as it could cause a surge in blood sugar reactions and a sudden drop soon afterward, especially if some is hypoglycemic. For that reason, I also take with at least 1/2 cup of water.
- Oh, the black walnut hulls and smilax may cause a bit of stomach irritation so that is also why having some food in the belly helps, at least at first. Both are excellent, though.
Smilax helps keep endotoxins from recirculating back into your body.

Bumping this up for latest feedback on BLT.
My husband had a great first month on IV Rocephin. Just started the 2nd month, and added the BLT drops. Something is causing major herxing, and (based on the prior month of Rocephin going smoothly), we think it must be the BLT.
He's been having: major fatigue unsteady balance/poor motor control stinging bumps all over, esp. lower legs worsening of mood/feeling "explosive" dizziness
Sure feels like bart, but would really like to compare notes. CD57? Lea? Anyone else?
Many thanks, Viva

Since taking BLT, I have had fatigue, pressure in my lower head/neck, and a lot of depression and anxiety.
I have also been feeling sort of out of body, but I am not sure if its the BLT. I started Ceftin close to the BLT, so it could be that.
I definitely feel like the BLT is hitting something, and I am barely at 15 drops a day.

Isn't it always the way...so hard to sort out which med is doing what.
I faxed the LLMD to ask what might be accounting for my husband's resurgence of symptoms, the increased Rocephin dose or the BLT drops. The answer was probably both, and just push through. Sigh.
My husband is at the same BLT dose as you are (15 drops). It must be pretty powerful stuff. I remembered another reason that I am attributing the symptoms to the BLT. LLMD said that Rocephin suppresses bart. So doesn't it seem likely that it's the BLT causing this upsurge, since now the bart is being treated more forcefully?
Would like to keep on comparing notes on the BLT, as things move along.
Take care, Viva

I have the same LLMD and he gave me BLT when I went to see him a few weeks ago. I've been hesitant to take it since it has such a high alcohol content, but hearing your stories I think I'm going to give it a try!
I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I also have Bart. I've been hitting Lyme and Babesia for the last 1 1/2 years so now it's time to KILL Bart

Hey Viva! So nice to "see" you! I actually quit my BLT because I don't do well with Buhner herbs and BLT I guess has those in it. As soon as I read that, I quit it. So I don't have anything worthwhile to add.
I would concur though, that it doesn't seem like it could be bart. The dizziness, fatigue and explosiveness seems like it could easily be Lyme or babesia. Does he have babesia?

Just started BLt. Had strange cranial neuralgia type symtpoms that I never had before plus intense shoulder/upper back pain, frontal headaches all from 5 drops twice a day of BLt! I called my LLMD, Dr. H, and he says this is a herx and also detoxing since I am pushing detox at the same time as BLt. I am only on the BLt for a protocol right now. LLMD says if I can, to push through this. This is some strong stuff! My head feels a lot like someone is trying to blow it up like a balloon. This herx, though strong and uncomfortable has a more doable quality to it than other "pharmaceutical herxes" I've had. This is my first protocol with just herbs. 10 years on antibiotics.

The best tincture I ever took. It stopped my migraine. I thought my head would burst into two pieces until I found this.

I have some of this. I have horrible anxiety attacks and crying jags everyday. Should I try the Blt again? Thinking my symptoms may be bartonella. Anxiety so bad,NEED a resolution. Will check in with llmd, but wanting your buy in and anything else I could do for the crying jags. It seems like they cause the anxiety versus the other way around. Maybe anxiety and crying jags are both connected. Out of answers til I found this forum. Hope you can help.
