I have been reading a lot about how people with lyme should be doing antiparasite treatment. My LLMD didn't mention anything about it on our first visit.
Should I be taking something?

Most LLMDs are not informed about parasites, especially when it comes to Lyme disease. Dr. K. treats ALL of his patients FIRST for Parasites and SECOND for Lyme and cos.
Google symptoms and do a search. You might want to try an antiparasitic herb like Parastroy and see if you have any reactions such as a herx.

Flagyl is what my daughter is taking for parasites at the moment....it's also a cyst buster for Lyme, so it's a BOGO for her!!
Haven't tried anything else besides the Flagyl so far.

You can buy it at Whole Foods and also check with your health food or vitamin shoppes. Parastroy recommends that you stay on it for 6 mos.

Don't know if it's the best choice, but it seems to be helping my daughter for now!!
I will most likely try some of the herbal things on the market later, but apparently my dd has a more serious case as she has Charcot-Leyden Crystals in her stool right now

Hulda Clark suggests that the three most important herbs to kill parasites and their eggs are Wormwood, Cloves and Black Walnut hull.
I eventually combined Parastroy and Hanna Kroeger Wormwood combo along with Super Digestaway by Soloray, extra cloves and HCL with pepsin along with the salt/c protocol.

Has anyone done the parasite cleanse in by Paul Pritchford? It's out of the Healing with Whole Foods book and there are five different options depending on your physical constitution. They all require uncooked brown rice as your first meal of the day to cleanse the intestines. And you take the herbs before each meal. I've done six so far but had to take a break. Just restarted after the holidays cause I don't think I got it all. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this and what their thoughts are.

You can take them when you are doing abx, but take about an hour or two apart. You can increase to 3 each a day after the 3rd week according to how you are tolerating. Take with food and drink plenty of water.

Can anyone tell me what the name of the herb is that Dr. Klinghardt is currently recommending for parasites? And if you've tried it, at what dosage? Thanks. Sue

Mimosa Pudica is the herb and there is a recent thread on here about it. Just type the name into the search bar.

- Larae,
It's a good idea to talk with your LLMD about this. Your body may not be able to handle too much at once.
Most ILADS-educated LLMDs should be aware of the importance of this. Yours may be but may have a certain order of treatment in mind for you.
You could just call the office manager and ask if they generally incorporate treatment for parasites. That way you at least have that bit of information.
The area nearer the doctor, those in the lyme support group there may be able to offer further details of the range of his methods. -
