Great listening. I've not listened to or researched anything by this Dr before. How I wish traditional medicine could think outside of their dare box.

I took some good notes for things that pertain to myself. Lots of lyme disease info in this presentation.

Thanks for sharing.

Pam

Thanks Lymetoo, for the link.

I just listened to the one about Lyme. It is pretty good.

Just disagree about a few things...he says you're probably safe if a tick is on you less than 24 hrs, and 2 weeks of antibiotics are usually good for acute lyme infection. Then he says that Lyme supposedly is not found in Lone Star or Dog Ticks, just Blacklegged ticks.

The moderator comes on at that point and tells him that where she is from, they use 6 weeks of doxy for acute lyme, not 2 weeks.

He treats chronic lyme patients holistically and does not use antibiotics, so he does not seem knowledgeable of them.

He refers people to Dr Burrascano's information about treatment with antibiotics, since he does not use them.

In this video he talks about ticks, testing, acute Lyme, chronic Lyme, biofilms, viral infections, digestion, blood brain barrier, gluten and casein free diet, hormones, natural anti-microbials, "Under Our Skin" and the special interests of the IDSA, elimination, basic nutrition, adjunctive therapies, immune system support, blood flow, inflammation, alkalinity, and heavy metals.

Then he has a Q&A session.

Some points I found interesting were:

He recommends using the "Multi peptide ELISA" test which is different from the ELISA. (He says the ELISA has an 80% false negative rate, which we already knew).

For Babesia, he uses artimisinin in this way: High doses of 1500 mg per day x 3-4 days, then take 1 week off, then 3-4 days on, 1 week off, repeat x 6 weeks.

He says that artimisinin is toxic to the kidneys at high doses if used long term.

One of the natural antimicrobials he uses is "Usnea Lichen", which he says is useful for staph, strep and he finds it helpful for lyme also.

He recommends lemon eucalyptus oil applied to skin to prevent ticks from biting.

Dr Hedberg talks about autoimmune thyroiditis and how research out of Japan that most people do not know about, shows that iodine should not be given to people with hashimotos thyroiditis.

The iodine upregulates thyroid peroxidase activity, increasing lymphocytic infiltration into the thyroid gland, which increases inflammation and destruction of the gland.

He says that iodine should not be given until the autoimmunity and antibodies are under control, maybe about 18 months, or it could make the autoimmune thyroiditis worse.

Dr Hedberg says that in his opinion, Lyme is the most difficult disease to treat.

At the end he mentions that a negative test does not mean that you do not have lyme.
