Old story. I think it is still effective, but painful, difficult to get treatment etc. And it is again, just a single shot therapy, it won't probably heal lyme alone but it can be a great tool for fighting bacteria.
I often used (and still does) something called Apisinum x6, a homeopathic dilution of bee venom. I like it. I use for other purposes than killing too, like we do with homeopathy.
I am sure if you have still active lyme, and take it, you may have a kill-off reaction, like with many killers that exist.
And it costs very little, so it could worth to try. I use it for many years, and have very positive feeling towards it!
But the bee venon real therapy (not the homeopathic) is too hard for me to consider... I mean, unless you know some bee keeper or someone where you can buy the venon.
Dr. K used to talk about that about a decade ago, here in Germany. Now I don't listen too much about it anymore, probably because there are other easier options for most of us, non bee keepers!

- Some have done shots - either with stings or shots, though, it would seem to me that it might be a huge shock to the adrenal system.
I'm sure my body would just collapse under such an immediate demand. The excess cortisol would likely just do me in for good. I've had bee / yellow jacket stings in recent years and it was a horrible experience that took weeks to get over. Not allergy, but adrenal shock / adrenal demand.
Before those stings and with faint memory of such, I read a lot about this years ago but it just did not ring any bells for me. I have heard of a few here and there that did it, with mixed results.
Some are very much jazzed about this at the time . . . but over time . . . I'm not sure anyone has found it to be the "end all, be all" for lyme, itself, in all the complexity.
There are many articles and some specific to those with lyme that you'd find in a cross search but if you put "Townsend Letter" into your search, you might get a few good hits. But most of these are years old.
A good follow up for current thought from any author here might not find its way to the web but there are other ways to research that if - after you study it a bit - if you are drawn to it.

Ordered some apitoxin from several sources almost a year ago. It hurts pretty bad when injecting it into the bullocks (only way to get it in your blood except for IV). Blood pressure went down noticeably. Can't say I noticed a lot of improvement, certainly not for continuing it intramuscularly. There's quite some literature on the positives but I think only some kind of non-toxic analogue of the active ingredient has possibly a role in the future for lyme. I wouldn't bet on this horse though.
