Has anyone's psych symptoms gotten worse while taking Rifampin for Bartonella?

Mine has big time. I don't know if I need to taper or switch abx or if it's part of the herx.

Thanks 💚

Yes.

There's lots of research about Tick Borne Infections and Psychriatric illnesses.

Intrusive symptoms and infectious encephalopathies;

Can Lyme Disease trigger obsessive compulsive behavior?

I am not a doctor so I can't tell you how to proceed.
But I can tell you to stop all meds if you experience any disturbing Psychriatric symptoms. Re-assess with LLMD.

There are lots of different protocols, herbs, antibiotics, herbs and antibiotics, detoxes, supportive therapies, ect. There is no one size fits all. Lots of experimentation to find what's right for YOU. Stay in the battle, you're so worth it! 💚

Here's an awesome article on how to tell if you are experiencing a herx and treatments to alleviate them.
