I've had Lyme since 1989 but am hugely better now. Seems I have to take doxy once or twice a year to keep things in check.

In the beginning I had hypercussis but now I have ringing in the ears. Not sure but think it gets worse in winter. When I swallow ears pop a bit. I do have some sinus issues...not severe.

My question is... have people gotten better with tinnitus on Doxycycline and/or has Doxy made their tinnitus worse?

I'm having a louder flair of tinnitus but not sure if it is from doxy on and off for years, thyroid issues, or Lyme or babesia

I have heard doxy can cause ear ringing so I am hesitant to use some I have to treat an increase in tinnitus. Anyone have experience with this?

THANKS!!

So sorry you have this symptom.

I have ringing in my ears most of the time, I am not sure if antibiotics can help or not. Diflucan helped a bit but I am trying some vitamins from Dr Wallach, it’s called youngevity.

If something helps you, I would love to know, it’s a very annoying symptom.

I also have had tinnitus since I got lyme, which is about 15 years now. It did get better while I was on antibiotics over the years but then it got worse again. I notice that when my sinuses are acting up, the ringing is worse. I honestly don't remember which antibiotic helped it, but I am going back on zithromax due to a relapse with my lyme. I will let you know if I see any improvement with that.

I have noticed that when taking almost any ABX, my tinnitus worsens and when I stop the ABX, my tinnitus improves, but does not go away.

I have been living with tinnitus for over a decade now. I hate it, but it does not bother me as much as it did in the beginning. It started following sudden hearing loss likely related to Lyme. [Frown]

Zithromax caused further hearing loss for me, so I am reluctant to take it again.
