This ones just kinda fun. If you could come up with one song that best describes you, which song would it be?

Mine? Hollaback Girl from Gwen Steffani. Know why?? Because I no longer take any crap from dr's, insurance companies, or anybody else. I stand up for myself and I know how to fight!! Grrrr.. LOL [Wink]

Definitely this song by The Saw Doctors

Sing a Powerful Song

When the troubles of the whole wide world
Come knocking on your door
And there's problems of a different kind
That you've never had before
When you've played against a gale force wind
And it changes at half time
And you feel your strength deserting you
And an emptiness inside
When there's people that will harm you
Though you've done to them no wrong
It time to sing , it's time to sing , to sing a powerful song
When they want to ruin your province
Just turn it into gold
When they think our greatest asset
Can be mined dug up and sold
When the factories are all closing
As they are in our home town
And your friends are looking out for work
That's nowhere to be found
When the sprits they need a risn'
To be happy proud and strong
It time to sing , it's time to sing , to sing a powerful song

Garth Brooks "She's Every Woman"

She's sun and rain, she's fire and ice
A little crazy but it's nice
And when she gets mad, you best leave her alone
'Cause she'll rage just like a river
Then she'll beg you to forgive her

She's every woman that I've ever known.

She's so New York and then L.A.
And every town along the way
She's every place that I've never been
She's makin love on rainy nights
She's a stroll through Christmas lights
And she's everything I want to do again.

It needs no explanation
'Cause it all makes perfect sense
For when it comes down to temptation
She's on both sides of the fence.

No it needs no explanation
'Cause it all makes perfect sense
When it comes down to temptation
She's on both sides of the fence.

She's anything but typical
She's so unpredictable
Oh but even at her worst she ain't that bad
She's as real as real can be
And she's every fantasy
Lord she's every lover that I've ever had
And she's every lover that I've never had

From the girl whose license reads CA RUSHBUM:

"Limelight"

Living on a lighted stage
Approaches the unreal
For those who think and feel
In touch with some reality
Beyond the gilded cage

Cast in this unlikely role
Ill-equipped to act
With insufficient tact
One must put up barriers
To keep oneself intact

Living in the limelight
The universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be
Must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation
The underlying theme

Living in a fish eye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend

All the world's indeed a stage
And we are merely players
Performers and portrayers
Each another's audience
Outside the gilded cage

- Rush

This is not a song the describes me as much as a song I need to hear on days like today. (It is my gift to anyone else that needs to hear it right now.)

As Bad As It Gets
 1997 Christine Lavin

This is the darkest hour
of your longest night
you've never been this powerless
or prayed this hard for light
wish there was something I could do
to pull you through
but the only one who can handle this now
is you

This is as bad as it gets
if you can make it through this
I'm willing to bet
that you will make it through anything
the world will throw your way
this is as low as you've ever been
if you can reach deep down
tap the power within
I know that you will find the strength
to make it through this day

This is the coldest night
of your bleakest year
it's hard to fight
all the forces that have brought you here
between the anger and pain
amid the losses and gains
there's a space
if you can find it
you will rise again

This is as bad as it gets
if you can make it through this
I'm willing to bet
that you will make it through anything
the world will throw your way
this is as low as you'll ever be
if you can stop for a minute
and listen to me
I know that you will find the strength
to make it through
this day

Nothing in your life has prepared you
for such a troubled time
but you're not one to give up or give in
when your life is on the line

This is as bad as it gets
if you can make it through this
I'm willing to bet
that you will make it through anything
the world will throw your way
this is as low as she goes
if you can reach deep down
tap the power that flows within you
I know that you will find the strength
to make it through this day
and then I know
you will be OK
you'll be alright
don't give up the fight

Good post Nancy

Back in October when this illness took over my body for my 30th birthday one of the gifts my mom bought me was an Olivia Newton John CD.

It wasnt just any CD, it was one that she wrote about her battle with breast cancer. I cried listening to the CD that day.

Here is one of my favorites:

Stronger then before:

I've survived so many things
broken hearts and shattered dreams
in every one I found an open door.

I'd miss a step I'd learn to dance
come back again with half a chance
stronger than before

There were times I couldn't see
beyond the blue insided of me
a thousand miles away from shore
but every moment everyday with every step I find my way
stronger than before

I believe in miracles I believe in dreams
through the pain I've come to know how far the heart can reach
a spark of hope in sorrows place will shine with such amazing grace
stronger than before

Ooh..ooh...ooh...Ooh Bah bah bah bah bah bah ahh ahhh ahhh ahhh

Ooh Bah bah bah ooh ooh ahh ahh ahh ahh

I belive in miracles I belive in dreams
through the pain I've come to know how far my heart can reach
a spark of hope in sorrows place will shine with such amazing grace
stronger than before

ahhh oh stronger than before [ bah bah ooh ooh yeah stronger than before ]
stronger than before

"Stronger Than Before"

mary chapin carpenter - Shelter of Storms

You always had the gift of speed;
You'd disappear without a trace.
It all depended on the need,
And on the pain you could not face.
So you would leave the home you'd found,
Pack it up without delay.
Cut your losses, blow that town,
Tomorrow was another day.

All the years and all the miles,
They lost track of time.
I look back now only once in awhile;
My memory just wants to blur the lines.
'Cause you know me, I just can't change.
I greet the sun, and find it strange
To watch you run
For the shelter of storms
For the shelter of storms.

Now where are you out in the world
Searching for a little grace
Searching for a precious pearl
Wisdom from some future place.
You let me go without a wave
I noticed that and nothing more
I guess I'm going to my grave
Wondering what it all was for.

All the years and all the miles
It's so hard keeping track of time
Do you think of me every once in awhile
When the rain lets up and the sun can shine
Just a little peace and quiet for a change
I still greet the sun and find it strange
To watch you run
For the shelter of storms
For the shelter of storms.

Go back the years, subtract the miles,
And see what's left for you to find
All the battles, all the trials,
You can't be free till you leave behind
Your bitter heart, but you can't change;
You curse the sun, and pray for rain,
You always run
For the shelter of storms,
For the shelter of storms.

This one does it for me [Smile]

It's My Life ~ Bon Jovi

This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for the faith-departed
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud

Chorus:
It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life

This is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky
Got to make your own breaks

Chorus:
It's my life
And it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just want to live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life

Better stand tall when they're calling you out
Don't bend, don't break, baby, don't back down

Chorus:
It's my life
And it's now or never
'Cause I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just want to live while I'm alive

Chorus:
It's my life
And it's now or never
'Cause I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just want to live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life!
