I just read something about recalling 3 or 5 things that made you happy each day.

So, I started thinking.

The maintenance man just installed a very nice screen door on my unit. I like it.

Sherry cleaned off the patio and I now can recline in my lafuma on the patio. Thinking of sleeping there tonight. We shall see.

I took the leg rests off of the Jazzy and was able to get in and out of doorways easier.

I also went for two one hour or more outings today in the Jazzy.

I have toilet paper. Sue stopped by with toilet paper and paper plates and cups and bowls.

What about you....can you think of 3 to 5 things??

Kam,

You made me smile.....especially about the toilet paper.

Let's see.

My daughter asked as we were passing cows wading in a pond,

If they swim. If they do, she wanted to know if it was called the "cow paddle".

Too cute. So grateful for my children.

My little boy snuggled with me this am when I wasn't doing too well.

I remembered my child's kindergarten meeting and made it on time. Yeah!

Hugs,

Geneal

This is a nice cheer up post.

My little girl patted my butt today and announced in Wal-Mart that I have a big hiney....may not seem like something nice but I cracked up.

I was able to sit outside with my kids today and watch them swim for an hour.

Myself, hubby and 2 kids went to a parade tonight. My 4 year old daughter stood up and clapped everytime someone walked by with a flag..made me really proud.

Hubby got called into work early yesterday and he went in. He got called in tonight to come in early and he said no..he was speding time with him family and couldn't be in until 11. Made me feel special..since we are pretty broke because of my needs.

I hope others reply to this.

[lol] kam, you crack me up ... making sure you got your paperwork .... TP! [lol]

got my car out of repair shop; sad it was over $850 but 1st major repairs we've put into it since we bought it neew in 92! Running much better and NOT dying in middle of intersections. felt like a bull fighter waving my hand like crazy when it wouldn't take off from the intersections. all i needed was the red cape!

had around 1 dozen wonderful emails today from lymenet friends and my regular emails thanking me for all i've done for them in finding LLMDS, my 60 pages newbie links, etc.

1 member here got to our famous dr. c. this week when a cancellation occurred; finally got some satisfaction and addressing most of all her major problems. she'll post here eventually after resting up from 30 hr. roundtrip!

got all of my recent physical therapy notes in the mail. i get copies of ALL MED REPORTS since going thru SSDI so i can continue monitoring what is in my reports, and getting anything WRONG CORRECTED as it occurs.

my teenage niece just moved to town so looking forward to her coming over and regular phone calls since my dear sis/her mom died 8 yrs. ago this month when she was 11. a hard road she's gone thru.

kit, i loved it about your little girl and your "big hiney" .... out of the mouth of babes! [lol]

I look out my window and see my rose bushes blooming, that makes me smile. They still bloom for me even though I have not been able to give them the care I should have this year.

I figure if they can keep blooming for me, then I can continue to fight to get well.

Leaving for vacation in 2 weeks, herxing or not. Being able to just get away in the motorhome does wonders for my soul.

What a WONDERFUL thread.

I got rain last night for the third day in a row,,,I am thankful,,, as my rain machines are 'broken' ,like ME!!! [Big Grin]

Grass is growing,,,actually weeds,,,with over three inches of rain this week,,,might be closer to 4 with a GOOD rain gauge to read!!(Mine is protected from dropping IN from some directions!!)

I am thankful for food to eat. Altho I REALLY need to get to a store soon,,,been a couple months since major shopping occurred!! Hard to 'starve' with a freezer full of good stuff!!

THAT gives me an idea,,,never had steak and eggs for breakfast for a LONG time.

But alas I am out of bread and white corn chips for dipping in hot sauce!!

NEVER EVER NEVER TP!!! Buy the BIGGER packages more often Kam,,,and buy another when you use the first and ALWAYS have a spare!!It doesnt spoil very much with old age!!kudos to KAM--being --just don--

This is one of those days when it's hard for me to even stay upright-so i thought this would be a good post to look into.

Not even sure what day it is-except Friday and i'm waiting for next week's medical supplies to come.

Ironic- I was on the bathroom throne earlier-out of toilet paper, tearing my last moist wipe in half, and begining to panic. I thought of getting on LN and asking someone to bring me TP since the effort of going out is beyond me today.

Instead I pulled everything out of the bottom of the linen closet and found a hidden stash. So I'm "good to go" as they say. Gratitude # 1

Our Church had a yard sale recently, and since I was in the office doing bulletins I got a sneak preview of good stuff cheap-including this computer chair I am now sitting in with the kind of back support I need-for 5 bucks. Gratitude #2

I found a 2007 Washington State Quarter in my loose change to ad to my "ColectorKids 50 State Quarters" Board-and I still had enough quarters left over to do a load of laundry. Gratitudes #3 &4.

I only have one thing (Gratitude #5) on my MUST DO list today- clean Stinky's cage-in which case Stinky will be adding his gratitude to the list.

Meanwhile since I am still not good at multitasking I will wait for medical supplies for now-then clean cage. Stay tuned.

These posts are putting a smile on my face and it looks like stinky's too.

Rosie and I had a good outing this am. First one in a long time. She got to be off leash and kick up her heels, but stayed within site of mom for the most part so I was less stressed.

We were in a fenced in area but it is a big fenced in area and I like to keep my eye on her.

She even came when I called her although she did the do I really want to come and if I do are you putting me back on leash dance each time.

No, I did not put her back on leash. I treated her for coming and then let her kick up her heels some more.

Saw at least 7 different wild flowers in the fields nearby yesterday during our short outing in the afternoon.

Tried to do some more small motor skills this am. (means I tried to color. I keep hoping the brain will reprogram itself. For now...small steps at a time.)

Need food around here too Don. Like the idea of chips for dipping. Need to go back and see what kind of chips those were again you wrote about.

I look at cattle in the field now and think about cow paddle. Cute. [Smile]

Kit, the parade and the swim thing sound very good. Glad you could make it.

Betty, glad you are back on the road again. [Smile]

Glad I managed to go outside and find 2 dandelions ... and I attempted to press them.

Really happy my vitamins came in the mail today.

Glad I have my CD player ... today it was My chemical romance and smashing pumpkins [Smile]

Glad I could chop some salad.

Ok I am running very low on batteries power right now.

Trying to figure out who or what Twilight is.

Having a rough time of it right now.

So, decided I needed to realize that even though I am having a rough time of it....so far it is nothing like it use to be in the past.

Hoping it will not get there either.

Azure Wish...thanks for letting me know who Twilight is. nice name.

OK Finding more negative than positive going on in my life so time to focus on positives

I was able to get out last night in my power chair and explore a new area.

Rosie and I went up the sidewalk that runs along side the main exit out of town. We headed towards the casino.

We were on the road with the big boys. Traffic was not too bad last night but the noise still bothered me. The big trucks really bother Rosie.

I learned it is really not that far from the casino from here via that route. Which is good because as of the first of the month, I have membership to the gym there.

I just have not been well enough to get there to use the sauna, pool or jucuzi (sp?).

We did not makeit all the way to the casino. I learned I need to cross the busy street before heading up the hill to do this. But, it does look like there is a sidewalk I can take all the way to the casino. This is good.

The sidewalk I was on ended up heading down the hill and Rosie and I were able to make a loop back home.

It was a nice outing. It also is in the area of the rodeo. The big rodeo is this weekend. I noticed there was lots of activity on the rodeo grounds. Hopefully, I will be doing well enough this evening or tomorrow am to head that way and check things out.

Frustrated lately because I am so low functioning. But, I am doing much better than I was last summer. I am at least getting out daily with Rosie to allow her to toilet and exercise.

I needed help with this last summer and was not able to do this myself.

So, thankful for the new power chair. It makes life so much more do able.

Using the slower moving one lately as I have been slow moving. Nice to have a choice.

Looks like I will be able to make it to water therapy this am. This is good. could not make it last Tuesday.

Feeling pretty spiffy this am. I was able to make it to water therapy via the senior van and power chair.

Rested in between some of the exercises today. But, it was great to be able to recall what the body felt like before lyme. Being in the water seems to help it feel normal and it is so much easier to move the body in the water.

Allowed myself just to float several times and enjoy being able to do that and feel the arms and legs and move them about easily.

Rested for ? amount of time...guessing 15 min while I waited for senior van to pick me up.

Had him take me to the gym at the casino. i am now official. They took my pic and made an id card for me.

I got the schedule. Not sure when I will be attending. Just know I need to get there and home before my body shuts down around 10.

I was gone from 8 until 10 am this am.

Took back road back home in power chair. Used power chair with more power. Even with it, I was fish tailing while going up a dirt road incline.

Body is sore from being bounced around in the power chair and sitting upright.

But, it was good to be out. I can rest now.

Need to figure out how long it takes me to get to gym from home via the power chair.

Need to figure out whether to do that or take the senior van.

I think I will start out in the senior van to conserve energy.

it was tricky crossing the main highway. But, after that, i don't need to use much in multitasking skills.

And if I am not up to crossing the highway, I can just stay on the sidewalk and head home until I come to the light down the hill and cross over there.

Seriously considering boise headset to cut down noise. But, will use earplugs for now.

It seems sometimes I can get them in the ears and they really cut down the traffic noise and other times it does't make a lot of difference.

It is tricky getting them just right.

Another obstacle was the movement of the traffic in itself. I prefer the quiet roads without cars.

When i got home, I found Sherry had been here. I now I have clean clothes. This is good.

I also did not put the shirt back on that needed the button. Can't believe how much that bothered me yesterday that I did not have what it took to find a buttom for it and sew it on.

I know why I have not been wearing that blouse now.

Will try to continue to not wear it until that button is sewed on.

Watched a good movie last night that was uplifting too. The "Fastest Indian".

My mood is so much better when I am able to do a few things.

Woke at 4 am again. Not sure how much sleep I got. Just know I ws out in my pj's twice with Rosie due to the runs.

Hope she is OK today.

Fell back to sleep for a shor ttime. Got up a little before 4:30 to toilet. Opened windows.

Going to try and go back to sleep.

Left around 6 am towards Rodeo Fair Grounds. I had one of those joyful moments when I came around the corner and looked upon the horses and trailers. Mostly the horses.

The trailers were interesting too. From people sleeping in some very nice accomodations with portable paddocks for their horses to people sleeping in the back of a pick up with the horse tied to a tree.

I saw the Bison Farms or Ranch horses. Over 2,000 pounds and over 18 hands. Bison Ranch also had two different old time wagons and other rigs. They stood out among the rest.

They had their horses in a very nice set up with professional plates and information on each stall.

I got a kick out of the guy next door. He too had a portable paddock for his horses but not as fancy. He too had name plates for his horses.....he used white paper plates.

It was quiet at the rodeo grounds this am. I am sure nothing like it was last night. I could hear the loud speaker last night from my apartment complex.

I am hoping to be strong enough to head out again this am to see how things look when the concessions stands open up and people are moving about.

Don't know if I can handle that but I would like to give it at try. I would like to watch the barrel racing.

I went up the four wheel drive road on the way back. It was tricky. We could not make it all the way in my power chair.

I was able to park the power chair and walk the rest of the way to the clearing.

I sat on a rock and tried to drink an adwalla for breakfast.

Couldn't handle that for long. The body was hurting too much even though I had taken excedrin this am.

I'd sure like to try pain meds to see if I am able to function higher although most likely not good for the health as I would over do it.

ON the way down the four wheel drive road, I wondered how I ever made it up the road.

I had to keep talking to myself. They are just rocks. Some bigger than others. But, just rocks none the same. A rock stopped us in our tracks on the way up. It hit the foot plate of the power chair.

We saw two jack rabbits at the clearing. Sure would like to know where that road goes. I could only see it went around the corner.

Considered letting Rosie off leash so she could kick up her heels. But, decided against it. It was taking all I had just to be there.

Kept thinking I need to meet someone to come with me on these outings or get a cell phone. But, even when I was well, it was difficult to find people who enjoyed exploring the outdoors.

They would prefer Denny's for breakfast over hiking in somewhere and having breakfast as the sun rose.

NIce that I live in an area I can do this and so close to home.

Junipers were the tree of choice in the area I was in today.

Saw a field of tall yellow flowers too on the way. Couldn't tell what they were. Not sunflowers. Can't really get close enough to see what they were.

Rosie did not poop or pee on our outing. I hope she is back to normal today with eating and peeing and pooping.

She is acting fine now. Drinking lots of water. This is good.

Mostly just wanted to write about that moment of joy I felt when I saw the horses. It just about brought tears to my eyes.

It also makes me wonder where I have been so long. It has taken so much out of me to fight this that it is nice to have those moments now.

Crossed paths with a girl on a horse during yesterday's outing with Rosie for poopers.

The horse was frightened of my power chair. Hadn't considered that.

Was cautious while being around the horses at the rodeo grounds. Mostly they were just curious as we passed by. I didn't want to frighten any of them.

So glad I was able to get out there. I wanted to do this Thursday am and again Friday am. Nice I was able to make today. I thinnk it is Saturday.

Kam-

I just love reading your posts. It seems like no matter "how bad" things are, you find something beautiful and wonderful, instead of the bad.

Reading your posts is like reading "Chicken Soup for the Lymie's Soul".

The 8 am Lumber Mill Whisle just blew. Nice to be cool enough that I can have the windows open to hear it.

Time to get to work. HA!

Not much new to report. I did see a very large catepillar during yesterday's outing.

I wish now I had stopped and picked it up and looked at it more closely. It was about 3 inches or more and very green with some spots of some color which I have forgotten on it.

Something I would not have seen cross the road if I had not been in my power chair.

Also was able to go to the rodeo later in the day yesterday.

Very hot, very loud....too much for a lyme brain to handle.

But, glad I at least was doing well enough to get over there and check things out.

I did not stay long. The barrel racing was just ending as I was heading towards the rodeo. The loudspeakers were so loud I could hear what they were saying blocks away.

The announcers were entertaining in themselves.

I learned the bulls won the bull riding contest for the most part.

They had only had 3 people all weekend be able to stay on.

I did not have to pay to get in which was good. Guess I was just catching the tail end of things.

I also was told that no dogs were allowed. But, then I got out Rosie's service jacket and told him she was a service dog and I would put it on.

He said welcome to the rodeo.

I saw some guys on bikes speed by while I was coming in on the dirt road.

As I was going out....I learned what that trailer with the platform and hill was for.

The guys on the dirt bikes gave a show. I later learned that they went up the hill on the trailer and did a somersault with their bike. Pure craziness.

I thought it was strange they had the dirt bikes around with the horses. It was very upsetting to most of the horses.

I also learned that although this is the oldest rodeo in the county....it is just a small town rodeo with most of the participants from the state.

I did not think to put my earplugs in until after I was off the rodeo grounds.

My 3 year grandson was here this weekend. Took him to his first tractor pull about 45 miles away,,Saturday night.

Then Sunday we went fishing (for him first time ever) at the lake. It was really hot and got one nibble the whole time.

After that his mom and him went swimming in the lake and half way thru he already had an ear ache.

Ended up at emergicare that night,,,but he was none the worse for wear,,,by next morning was running on all cylinders again!!

Besides he got to stop for McDonalds cheeseburgers for a treat of which he never ate anyway.

Never saw a 3 year old that ate so little,,,have a heck of a time getting him to eat anything!! I thought most little boys were GOOD eaters!!still--just don--

Don,

It put a smile on my face reading about your adventures with your grandson.

Glad you were able to do those things with him.

I was wondering what you have been up to.

I was just thinking how good it was to be around my grandson's even if it was just for very short visits.

Good memories.

Since reading THIS thread,,I may never think of Kam the same way again.

I can see it now. Kam backed in the box,,,in her power chair. Rosie doing the hazing on the other side. The calf between them.

They let the calf go and there goes Kam not breaking the 10 second barrier,,,chasing the calf with her power chair,,,swinging the rope overhead.

Ten paces down the arena,,,Kam lasso's the calf and it hits the break away string. KAM wins!!!!,,, best time of all contestants!! Rosie gets a doggie treat!!

Kam motors home with 2 foot trophy in hand!!! AND a purple ribbon round her neck!! Rosie is off chasing rabbits and shadows!! Smiles all around!!
