Strange how things happen!! I RARELY pick up magazines at the grocery store, [maybe twice a yr at most] but this time I did.

I saw it had some info on walking and other interesting things.

It's FIRST magazine. If you're looking to pick one up, it's the one with Carrie Underwood on the cover... April 28 issue.

Anyway, now the good part!

On page 44 there is an article about a young woman who was tired all the time and it kept getting worse.

She later developed Bells Palsy.
She finally found her way to an LLMD and was clinically dxd!!

They even reference the Lyme Disease Association as the place to go for more information!!

Check it out!!

I'm thinking of writing the magazine and thanking them for the very well written article!

It's been around for years. Just look at the grocery store. You'll find it.

It has in very large print, Walk Off 96% More Fat.

And Carrie's pic.... FIRST is written across her forehead!!

I found their email:

Kam,

Ya, that was my thought, too.

Thank you Lymetoo. I can't afford it, but it's reassuring just to know that it was printed.

trish4,

... out into the public ... one hurtin' Lymie at a time. Yes.

It all helps the rest of us, including those many, many, many who don't know that the name for what has devastated them might actually be called "Lyme."

[woohoo]

And I do hope that the people who read this article and thought "That's ME!" will keep searching until they find a good LD board and/or a good LLMD!!

I LOVE THAT MAGAZINE!!!!! [Big Grin]

Here's the link to e-mail the editor, if anyone would like to share their opinions.

I'll have to see if I have that issue.

I know they had something on Lyme being a possibility for fatigue or something a while ago, maybe it was last year or the year before.

That was just a little blurb though.

Great find TuTu!!!! [group hug]

That's VERY encouraging news! [woohoo]

That's awesome! Maybe since anything printed about Lyme in newspapers seems to state CDC treatment guidelines, we'd have better luck getting the word across via magazines? I think magazines would be a good avenue to get the word out there about the other side of Lyme, our side, w/ILADS treatment guidelines.

What if we tried contacting other magazines to share some of our stories?
