Thought I would get this week's thread going.
I started Diflucan and CandiBactin-AR on Saturday. Spent most of the weekend in bed. I knew I was loaded with Candida. So I was a basic couch potato. Hopefully, as the week goes on this will improve.
Best, Karen

Karen -- You are certainly the quick little bunny this morning. I signed on to start the thread, and "POOF", it was already there! Thanks so much for starting it.
And I hope that you are feeling better today.
If I am correct, we are all going to try to find some form of exercise (stretching, weights, walking, crawling -- whatever we can do) and strive to do this exercise for 5 minutes every other day for a week.
I'm in -- anyone else?

Did my 2 rounds of stretches and 16 minutes on the treadmill. Also a few free weights. Had to hurry since I had limited time there today.
It felt good!!!

I'm checking in, but since I'm not keeping up with the rest of you, I'm almost hesitant to write.
Lou, your five minutes a day sounds like a great motivation. Too bad I'm such a procrastinator and keep saying I'll start TOMORROW.
I'm doing two or three IV's a day now and it's wearing me out beyond belief. Have one running right now so even though I think of walking as I'm writing this, I'm not holding up my end of the bargain.
IV will end in a couple of hours and maybe I can still get out for the night walk with Montana. Should be able to get five minutes in for that you would think. Will be in touch.

i went to monday's health conference in des moines that obama selected.
got lots of walking in from parking ramp to convention ramp, but what i was NOT expecting was the fact they had 3 parking ramps and my stamped ticket was on DASHBOARD of my car vs. on me!!
i walked 1 hour all inside this hub area looking for it and was close to it 2 other times if only i'd gone FURTHER .....20 feet to lead me to correct spot.
i pigged out at bonanza's buffet lunch; my favorite place to eat.
so decided to post here since i don't walk like that any more; exhausted today and need to make this a short evening here.
another day of going tomorrow to meet lymenet member, bugaboo, for 1st time!

Good to see you here, Betty! You sound like me, losing your ticket. That is definitely something I would do.
Miss Pris and I went to the mail yesterday. Then I spent the day running errands and going to an appointment in the big city near me. Pretty wiped today. But I hope to get out to the mail again as it will be clear, blue skies and 40 today! That is a great day in my neck of the woods. =)

Well, well . . . Bettyg! I knew that you would eventually find your way here! So good to see that you have joined us, and I hope that you decide to stick around.
Monday . . . 20 minute walk. Yesterday I worked a double, so that should count for something. I think I am ready to go back to the gym and see how the knee holds up.
I was going to go today, but I left this morning without the gym bag.
Lymetoo, you are doing so well working out!
Cathy, doing all those IVs is a workout in itself. Hang in there! We love you.
I will walk tonight after dinner to get my 5 minutes in today.

Ok, got in my slow motion walking today. Got the pedometer to register 1303 steps.
I'm worn out and feel like I've run marathons, even though this was about as slow motion as it comes....so well over 5 minutes today, Lou.
Hey Betty! WELCOME! You aren't going to leave me in your dust are you? I'm the poke along here.
Karen, Running errands is very tiring, but always feels good to be getting things done while getting that motion in. Good job.
Kam, You really don't have to post on past threads and make me feel like I'm not the only one with lyme brain here. Hehehehe. I've definitely done things like that too.
Tutu, How is the treadmill going? It sounds like you are on a positive path.
Lou, Thanks always for the support. <HUGS> Working a double AND getting in a 20 minute walk. Wow.....could you bottle up some of that energy med and send out some to each of us?

Hi Gang!
And welcome to BettyG.
Tdtid, be careful.
Tuesday-Me and Rocky 1 mile.
Wednesday-Me and Rocky 3/4 mile.
My endocrinologist wants me to walk less miles and pick up on the frequency so I'm switching up.
I'm also doing therapy for my elbow so am going to do both arms.
Using a theraband (red) working forearms, biceps and triceps.
If I do ok I might try to start working out.
I know before I couldn't work out, especially abs. They would hurt so bad. I know alot of us with Lyme have the ab issue.
I'm hoping that I've recovered enough so we'll see.
Later all!

Hi, everyone! Miss Pris and I went to the mail today. I also did the stairs numerous times trying to get laundry done.
Aklnwlf, your theraband arm work makes my arms ache! That is where I have a lot of pain. Makes sense to walk less but more frequently. Do you get the post exertional malaise like I do? Hope not!
Lymetoo, so sorry to hear that your sciatica is screaming at you! Ouch! Not fun...
Cathy, go easy. Don't want to do too much while on treatment. But glad you were able to move the ole body.
Lou, I remain amazed that you are able to work a double! I couldn't work two hours...
OK, KAM. Where are you?!
Best, Karen

Karen -- Believe me, there was a time that I couldn't work two hours either. But I kicked Lyme to the curb over a year ago and haven't looked back.
10 minutes on elliptical. Free weights for arms for about 20 minutes, and then another 10 minutes on elliptical.
All is well

KGG-Yes, I get the fatigue after walking, mowing, etc.
The more I do the worse it is.
I was telling Kam that if I do alot of yardwork it might take me 2-3 days to recover but that's if I'm out there for a few hours.
I can remember before when I was really, really sick walking wasn't even an option.
I had severe muscle fatigue and cramps in my legs so that nixed the walking in the bud.
Am so glad to be well enough to walk now.
So to you crawlers out there, don't give up hope!

Wow. Great to read all that you all are doing.
Can't seem to recall what I just read though HA!
let's see 40 degree weather in Karen's neck of the woods?? Which is good??
Akinwolf going to start working with abs to see how it goes and hopes it goes better than in the past??
Cathy is getting an IV work out...I can recall those days and how that was very difficult both for the brain and the body.
Betty ...wow...Betty went to the Health Reform thing and was on her feet a lot...something that most probably took for granted but doubting she did.
Karen went to the big city.
Lou. Wow. Lou gives one hope.
TuTu is a trooper
Akinwolf gives on hope too!!
I am just checking in. Laying low today.
Well, Rosie is going to be giving me the look here pretty soon to take her out to toilet.
I can go faster in it than the other one. Which is great when I am able. Rosie likes it better as it works better with her natural gait.

Natural gait .. we talked about that today, kam. I may try walking the (carpeted) track on Monday instead of using the treadmill.
I think I can have a more normal gait on the track. It feels better and may help the sciatica. The only drawback is dodging the people on the track who walk very slowly.
The plan is to walk against the traffic. Still will be a challenge to avoid everyone. At least my heart rate will get up higher!

LymeToo,
I had not considered the natural gait thing but that makes sense...especially with lyme disease.

Rainy weather all weekend. And will not get to the gym until Monday. So much for my 5 minutes per day of exercise.
But I will try again starting tomorrow. I'm going for 7 straight days of exercise starting tomorrow. I can do it!!
Hope you are all feeling well.

Me either. One of the nurses said that those with neuropathy don't walk on the treadmill and podiatrists say the natural gait is better. I wouldn't have considered it myself....but what do *I* know!?
Lou, that's awesome!!! Go for it!!

I got out on Saturday and actually went someplace that wasn't medical related. Guess my only walking was walking from a car to a restaurant for lunch and then into a movie theatre where I came out drained.
But hey....I think I had forgotten what it was like to even get out and do something totally distracting.
I've been worn out for the last two days after this and only been walking halls today, but I'm definitely thinking this new IV is going to have me on a positive path again.
It's been interesting reading about the 'natural gait' being better. Where does slow "turtle crawl" come in?

Hahaha....I just realized I was posting on last weeks note and I should start a new one. I don't have a calendar and the math of figuring out what day is next Sunday...with the month change was just too perplexing. Hahahaha. Is this pathetic or what?
