Saturday we are asked to perform a public service. I think it's great idea! Our neighborhood has had "Clean Up Day" for years and all turn out. Except me.

I served on many panels, commissions, etc. because I believe in public service.

I feel so useless. I can barely make Dr appts. All I can do is write now & then and I try to help out here.

soooo I am available by PM on Saturday if I can offer support or advice. I've been sick for many years and have learned quite a lot. I am finally starting to improve on IVs.

I do not quit trying and never will!

Farraday,

Hope you have some positive interactions today. That's nice of you to offer your services.

I say: remember to have some fun, too.

hi farraday...when i saw the title i almost didnt come cuz i was thinking...good idea but how can i do it???

so by coming here...you validated my feelings. it always feels good to communicate with someone who really does understand.

you may not get many replys today...but as time goes on...just letting others know you have been where they are can be helpful...your service can be stretched out...and you are in control . hope you feel better soon

Hey, farraday,

Remember how A, T & T's (phone company) slogan used to be "Reach Out and Touch Someone" ? . . . well . . .

"just don" needs a neck and shoulder massage:

Well, my strong piano hands won't fit into a Priority mail box. But I do have some suggestions

1.flaxseed pillow with chamomile & lavender. I ordered stuff online to make tightly filled neck pillow!
2. My IMT therapist would simply hold my head in her hands for 5 minutes. I showed my husband how to do it for me.
3. Cranial sacral therapy is wonderful. I only get limited number of treatments with Medicare.

My son has numerous black belts and his teacher is trying to convince him to get more body therapy training. He is already good at it and I hope he follows through. He is a bit worried about hurting me, though.

Song Fest! Great idea! I used to have great Christmas parties and I played my piano so we could sing! I was in a Candlelight Singers a capella madrigals group in school. Wonderful therapy!

in a hospital in Mexico a doctor brought his guitar and sat on my bed and sang to me. He said in Mexico people sing to heal sorrow.

So today I'll play my beautiful piano (after removing dust cover) and you can all sing along! I WILL hear you!

Keeb, will you send this off to the one with painful neck. Btw, my neck has been sore for so long that I just don't move it. I cram down pillows under it sometimes. Oh, and acupuncture is wonderful...if you can afford it. [Frown]

What I would really like is a rolled heating pad!

Hi Farraday - here's lyrics for your song fest, in honor of the inauguration and MLK day - to the tune of We Shall Overcome -

We shall overcome,
we shall overcome,
we shall overcome some day.
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
we shall overcome some day.

Everyone come learn about,
everyone must learn about
Lyme and co-infections today.
Oh, all do our part, to safety achieve,
everyone come learn today.

Ticks and bugs and even us,
ticks and bugs and even us,
all can spread these ills today.
Oh, all do our part, to safety achieve,
to stop these spreading ills today.

Veg and wood and animals,
veg and wood and animals,
ticks can be on these today.
Oh, all do our part, to safety achieve,
'cause ticks can be on these today.

These ills can take your health away,
these ills can take your funds away,
dealing with these ills today.
Oh, all do our part, to full life achieve -
don't let ills take our lives away.

Lifestyle habits we can change,
lifestyle habits we must change,
lifestyle habits, change today!
Oh, all do our part, to our health achieve,
lifestyle habits, change today.

Tick repellent on us all,
tick repellent on us all,
on ourselves and pets today.
Oh, all do our part, to safety achieve,
tick repellent on all today.

Check for ticks on all today,
check for ticks on all today,
on ourselves and pets today.
Oh, all do our part, to safety achieve,
check for ticks on all today.

Websites can be helpful tools,
websites can be helpful tools,
websites can be helpful today.
Oh, Lymenet.org, LymeDisease.org,
and many more that help today.

We shall overcome,
we shall overcome,
Lyme disease and co's some day.
If we all do our part, I do believe,
we shall overcome some day.

..................................................

And if any of you are so inclined to contribute more verses, go ahead!
