Here we go with another week of exercise.

Let's keep encouraging each other to get up and move as much as possible.

Maybe you are hiking, traveling, gardening, walking, cleaning etc. It all counts!

So, tell us about your exercise routine or just tell us about your day. [woohoo]

Have a super week!

Watched my local church service online.

Did a load of laundry.

Cleaned the bathroom and part of the kitchen.

Rode the exercise bike 35 minutes. Then did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises. Too much exercise but I have appointments tomorrow and won’t do as much then.

Called mom. Then chatted with my BFF.

Have been reading— on to a book called “Valiant Women” about women who served in WWII. My aunt was in the WAVES, so the book has interest for me.

I plan on having a bratwurst for dinner with zucchini and a fresh tomato. Last of the homegrown tomatoes a friend gave me.

I recorded the second day of the Prefontaine Track and Field Classic and will watch that this evening. It’s

Feels like autumn here. Temps in mid60’s. Rain, except for sprinkles, missed us again.

Hi everyone! I took my friend to church yesterday and we stayed for potluck. It was so good to see folks I hadn't seen in 23 years! Afterwards I took her to the cemetery where we searched for her father's grave. Thank goodness I was able to download an interactive map to my phone or we would have never found it. We both cried a bit and I took pictures for her.

Today I went to Wasilla and spent the day with my bestie. The drive from Eagle River to there is absolutely breathtaking and I never get tired of it. I met the doggies I'm going to be watching while they're on vacay and they're both super sweet.

She took me to lunch to a place called the Cadillac Cafe where I had an amazing mixed green salad topped with sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, kalamata olives and croutons with avocado ranch dressing on the side.

Her place is near a lake north of Wasilla and she has a garden and chickens. I'm going to enjoy house sitting too. It's so peaceful and quiet with wonderfully crisp mountain air! I love it!

Don't know if I mentioned my host here in Eagle River knew I was here helping friends with cancer so he cut me a deal I couldn't refuse so I'm staying here until the 24th.

It's a blessing in disguise because my friend with colon cancer isn't doing well and I'm so glad to be closer to her.

So I'm hoping she's up for visiting tomorrow and maybe dinner.

I might head into Anchorage tomorrow and get some walking in and maybe shopping.

Movie time on my tablet. Night friends!

[hi]

AK--So glad you can see your friends and enjoy the mountain air. Hope your sinus infection is going away, too.

I went to the ENT this morning and he confirmed what I already knew--my left eardrum is still torn and only 1/4 remains intact.

Surgery isn't an option as it would have no small hole in the surgical eardrum to help my nonworking eustachian tube change pressure as it should.

Anyway, I go back in 4 months and he wants a hearing test then. He expects I will lose my hearing in that ear.

Zipped to the bank and then filled the car with gas.

Rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.

Worked on Bible study.

Called mom.

Worked on getting her prescriptions filled and mailed to her. Silly pharmacy can't seem to handle the mailing part. Sent me a text that they would mail it. Then sent another text saying the prescription was ready for pickup. [bonk]

Finished reading a book. Need to go to the library soon!

Made one more batch of nectar for the hummingbirds. They are still hanging around.

Fixing a burger with tomato and a spinach salad for dinner.

Need to take trash and recycling out to the curb. Will use my neighbor's recycle bin when he puts it out. We share in my neighborhood!

Have a good evening! [Smile]

OK I overdid it today. Had an Americano with half & half and a lavender blueberry muffin at Jitters in Eagle River for breakfast then started my adventure for the day.

Drove a bit south of Anchorage and stopped at Potter Marsh (bird sanctuary) and walked the boardwalk looking for wildlife. I have to admit I was a tad bit worried about moose and bear but thank goodness none were close by.

From there I drove further south to Beluga Point looking for whales. Didn't see any today.

It was lunchtime so I decided to drive further south into the ski resort town of Girdwood and had an awesome burger, fries and unsweet tea at Chair 5 restaurant. Also drove to Alyeska Resort while there to gawk at the hotel and surrounding mountains.

Drove back into Anchorage and shopped a bit at a Nordstrom Rack but really couldn't afford anything there.

Stopped at Village Inn for a slice of pie and came back to my room and put on jammies and am ready to watch a movie and call it a night!

I am wore out! Whew!

See you guys tomorrow!

AK—sounds like a good day even if you did overdo it.

Woke up early for some reason. So, did my balance exercises right after breakfast.

Dealt with mom’s pharmacy again to get scripts mailed to her.

Watered the flowers outside.

Had a delightful lunch out with two gals from Bible study.—soup and salad. We chatted for a long time.

Stopped at the library on the way home to grab 5 books I had on hold.

Rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.

Worked on Bible study.

Guess I will have another hamburger tonight with yellow squash and apple sauce.

LOL Hiker I had my leftover hamburger from yesterday for an early dinner tonight.

Picked up my friend Linda and we went and ate omelets at Village Inn in Anchorage. Afterwards we shopped at Value Village, a second hand store, where I bought two tops, a pair of olive green khaki pants and a gray polar fleece vest. Everything was a bit big except the vest. I'm keeping everything but might need a belt for the pants.

Talked with my AirBnB host today and low and behold he's a middle school science teacher. Told him Josh was a teacher too and he said there's a real shortage of teachers here and Josh would make really good money if he relocated. I can't wait to tell Josh on Friday or Saturday. They're unionized here too so that's a plus.

That would be so awesome if we moved up here! Of course that's my dream but I don't know about Josh.

I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow which is kinda neat not having to be on a schedule. Maybe I'll look into the school districts here and job prospects for myself as well.

It's only after 5:00 here but I'm already in my jammies and will probably watch a movie or a TV show.

See you guys tomorrow!

AK—I had a feeling you would get there and want to move back. If Josh doesn’t want to move, you might have a tough decision to make.

Regular Wednesday here. Went grocery shopping.

Did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises.

Rode the exercise bike 15 minutes.

Talked to mom and reminded her I was picking her up for an appointment tomorrow. She will forget so, I will have to call when I am on my way. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow so not looking forward to 130 mile round trip in that weather.

Worked on Bible study.

Cooking a chicken breast for dinner with broccoli and a tossed salad.

Then relaxing with a book.

AK, sounds like you are having a good time in AK!

We had a lovely sunny day. Hung 3 loads of wash out on the line.

Hubby sawed and split some wood for the fire pit for our doggie roasts.

Fed all the birds and animals before supper. Had to wait till the chickens go to bed so I can close the door.

Had leftover pizza for supper, veggies & dip, and for dessert, apple crisp with pecans and whipped cream.

Went to Wasilla today and had a great Italian lunch with my bestie. She had smoked salmon gluten free penne pasta Alfredo and I had lasagna.

Visited her Dad and one of her son's and his family and had the best time!

Back at my room by 7:30 and already jammied up and tired. I'm sleeping so good here but am tired quite a bit.

Tomorrow I'm planning on staying around Eagle River and maybe doing some laundry.

I'd love to move back here but I'd miss Josh way too much and all my friends that I've made over the years down in the lower 48. Also winters can be rough and I'm not sure I can deal with that anymore.

It's very tempting though.

Time to watch a movie! Night my friends!

AK—that gluten free dish your friend had sounds wonderful. Your whole trip sounds wonderful! [Smile]

Did my balance exercises.

Had Bible study with my women’s group this morning

Then hopped in the car , drove the hour to mom’s and took her to an appointment. Got her referred to physical therapy and occupational therapy much to her dismay. Trying to keep her in independent living at the retirement center as long as possible.

Stopped at grocery on way home to get a few on sale items. Went through self checkout and it didn’t give me the sale price which I didn’t realize until I got home.

So, went back and got some money back. Glad the store is close.

We have a had good soaking rain today and it is really picking up now. Thankful my drive to and from mom’s was relatively rain free. Hate driving on the interstate with the semis kicking up all the water.

Would have stayed for a prime rib dinner with mom but then looked at the forecast that thunderstorms will be here soon, so came home.

Am eating leftovers instead. bonk:

Have a good evening. 🌆

Hiker how in the world did you pass on prime rib? I had a lunchable for dinner. Had a great lunch though of leftover lasagna and salad.

Had my usual coffee and lemon, lavender berry muffin at Jitters and did some souvenir shopping.

After my way to big lunch I did 40 minutes of hiking at the Eagle River Nature Center. It was a beautiful day here so took advantage of the weather to get some memories stored up. So peaceful here.

My AirBnB host is leaving tomorrow until Tuesday so I'll be here by myself til Sunday. I'll leave to stay with my bestie the remainder of my trip.

I'm taking my friend to 2 doctors appointments tomorrow. One is with her oncologist.

You know it's kinda weird but I've had bouts of sadness when I'm by myself. I feel lonely so I'm thinking I might be grieving a bit.

I was thinking today while driving that I'm in such a beautiful place but for me at times it's tinged with sadness.

I guess that's life.

So I've prescribed myself something funny to watch on Amazon Prime.

Night friends!

AK .. I'm so glad you are enjoying AK!! Even though you are on vacation, you don't get a complete break from grief. Sadly not. [Frown]

I would probably do fine in the cold, but not the DARK!

We've had a crazy week dealing with car repairs. GAG. My car is OK now ..got new brakes on the front.

Hubby's car .. might get fixed next week. We have spent far too much money on it, but it has 175,000 miles already. Mine only has 96,000.

His could make another 100,000.

The weather has been nice until today it got pretty warm. High 80's. I love 70's!! Next week is my dream weather ..

We are getting some rain right now. We needed it!!

Still enjoying my walks and my PT on the mid back is going well. Today I was too tired to walk, but I had already done cardiac rehab and then PT .. so I got my workout.

Hiker .. I hope your mom will accept the therapy. She may end up liking it.

Tutu—been cooler here, but rained for 36 hours straight. I think we got between 4 and 5 inches. Hope you get the car trouble sorted.

My mom hates therapy. She has done it before and refuses to work outside the sessions. But maybe it will help some.

I did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises this morning.

Made a meatloaf and froze it.

Laundered the sheets on the bed and remade the bed. Suspect I may need a light blanket soon.

Talked to mom.

Spent a long time on Bible study.

It’s a no cook dinner Friday, since I froze the meatloaf. Think I will order a gluten free pizza and go pick it up.

I have a good mystery novel to read.

AK—I think your trip is good for you even though you will still have sadness and loneliness. Sounds like you are catching up on sleep. Have you gotten rid of the sinus infection and dizziness?

Sunny day here with a nice breeze.

Hung a few loads of wash out on the line.

Picked tomatoes again. The stalks have blight and most of the leaves are dead. Still have a few tomatoes on that are still ripening.

Started digging potatoes. Pulled out the last of the onions. Dug up some of the carrot row - very disappointing. They are very small, most less than 2 inches long and barely thick as a pencil. I think our soil is to heavy and wet for them.

Brought some mint tea in and put the leaves in the food dryer. Its smells wonderful in here!

Supper was ham, fried potatoes and green beans. Dessert was leftover baked goods - cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and a bundt cake.

Hi, Manna!!

[hi]

Hiker .. that's a shame that your mom hates it that much. I just forget to do all the exercises. I do what I can.

What I'm doing now is mostly stretches and they feel good.

My friend's appointments today were labwork and the PA for the oncologist. They're suggesting a Catscan based on her labs and symptoms. She has pain in her side and some nausea. Since she won't do anymore chemo, radiation is an option but she was told it wasn't a cure. It didn't sound good to me.

I did some grocery shopping and cooking since my host isn't here.

I had to run back to Wal-Mart because I've developed a rash on my face and was feeling a bit off and had another headache so loaded up on Cortisone and Benadryl creams and Advil. I don't think it's sinuses with the rash though. Could be my sleeping meds but I'm not really sure so will take some Benadryl instead.

I did 2 loads of my laundry today along with cooking and that was it for exercise.

Time to watch something funny on my tablet again.

Night friends!

Happy First Day of Autumn. I changed my magnetic mailbox cover to fit the new season.

Did a load of laundry this morning.

Also did my balance exercises.

Washed a couple of windows and my shoulder rebelled. Had trouble getting one window closed and locked. May have the cleaning lady do most of the windows this year under my supervision.

Baked salmon, asparagus and a potato for lunch.

Watched my weekly Beth Moore Christian video.

Filled the safflower feeder again. And watched the hummingbirds for awhile.

Watched the Illini football game. They won, but it was an easy non-conference game.

Meatloaf, zucchini, and tossed salad for dinner.

Am watching the saddest movie called The Learning Tree. Filmed in 1969 it about a coming of age story in 1920s. Bringing tears to my eyes.

Hi guys!

TuTu I don't have a clue what's going on. Benadryl made me feel a tad better today. I've noticed some fatigue since I've been here even though I'm sleeping a lot. I usually don't sleep well so hope it's nothing to worry about.

Hiker your lunch, dinner and movie sounds great. That movie sounds right up my alley but I've been kinda down lately so I'm watching funny shows and movies lately.

Today I took my friend to church and afterwards we picked up her sister and hubs and I took everyone for a Mexican lunch.

She's leaving tomorrow for Wrangell AK so today was the last time I'll see her. We both cried.

I thank God for being able to spend time with her.

I'm leaving Eagle River tomorrow also and heading to my bestie's house in Wasilla.

Today I went to another mall and bought souvenirs. Vacuumed my room and packed my suitcase. I ate cookies and got crumbs everywhere! My folks trained me well so I'm cleaning up after myself.

The snow is getting a little lower on the mountains and it's not as rainy. It seems to be getting cooler here.

Don't laugh guys but I'm a bit homesick and miss Josh like crazy! Guess I'm used to my own little corner of the world.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

[hi]
