The instructions that came with the heparin said that I should let the trouche dissolve under my tongue for 3-5min.But it took 15-20 min. to dissolve all the way .If it doesn't dissolve in 5min. should I just swallow it?

I've always wondered that myself. Just keep trying to dissolve it. I think if you swallow it, you won't get the full benefit. That's my guess.

If it takes too long, I usually suck on it a bit.

My son Dominic was having the same problem.

I called Midwest and spoke to the pharmacy and they told me it should only take 5 mins but can take longer it depends on the amount of slava and the temp of your mouth.

He told me to difently not swallow it or it didn't help. Something about under the tongue goes in your blood stream better, like with nitro's that is why you put them under your tongue.

Hope this helps.

Jake & Jordan are on oral heparin.

How much do you take? Do you take the whole piece or 1/2 of piece?

Jake & Jordan take the whole piece. It takes Jake about 10-15 minutes and it takes Jordan about 30 minutes.

We cut the heparin in 1/2 because 2 pieces dissolve faster than 1 piece.
