My daughter's blood test results for the Narcolepsy Panel were as follows:

DQA1*0102 Present
DRB1*1501 Not Present
DQB1*0602 Not Present

Would anyone know what this means?

I am so sorry to hear ya'll are having to deal with Narcolepsy.

My father had Narcolepsy. He was interviewed on T.V. and everything because it was so "new" back in the early 80's.

I wish I could help you with the panel but as far as I know he never had that done.

He couldn't stay awake for more then 20 mins. at a time without med. When he kept falling asleep in the court room (about disablity) the judge couldn't believe it and said he was totally disabled.

Does she have sleep apena too?

Hopefully someone will come along soon with more answers for you.

I had a sleep study done because of my (imo) lyme-related need to sleep long hours and then take naps.
The doc said I sleep fine. THAT is what I kept telling them. I SLEEP ok. It is being awake and alert and napless that the problem lies.
so one of my doc's prescribed Provigil. It enables me to work (counselor) without yawning through client's sessions. (most of the time) It is only sort of a band-aid for mty situation. they still haven't gone for the root cause of the fatigue. I blame lyme, but I like to blame it for everything.
Provigil can be a wonder drug under the right circumstances. It has none of the nasty side effects of caffeine and amphetamines. It is most commonly used for narcolepsy
