Hi, I had Lymes Disease in 1994. I'd had it--the bite and rash etc for 7 months before doctor diagnosed it. I had a blood test which confirmed high titers--I didn't know what that meant---still not sure. I was put on antibiotics and the red ring around my leg disappeared. I have never had another blood test for Lymes and Doctor said I was fine. Is this true? Has it definitely gone from my body?

I kind of doubt its gone. Once you have it (lyme) it usually takes quite a bit of abx's to get rid of it especially after seven months before yopu treated it.

Hi and WELCOME! Get a LLMD or at least Dr that is willing to learn about lyme. Borrelia Burgdorferi is a clinical diagnosis, based on symptoms and on your response to treatment. Good Luck, bumpy road ahead.

No you don't always see a bite and if there's no bullseye the only way your going to be able to tell is (symptoms) and (((Maybe))) WB or lyme dot blot 3 day urine banged with abx's to free your antigens up for the test.

You've been given some really great links to read and study this most complicated disease.

Welcome to LymeNet...hang around awhile and you'll find out this is the best group support for Lyme Disease on the Net.

But, if you haven't seen this one yet, here's a link to the EuroLyme group on Yahoo that you may find helpful in getting to a doctor for the treatment you need.

For, you probably have NOT gotten rid of it yet as, I'm guessing here, you may not have been given enough antibiotics (strength), nor for a long enough duration.

Since I don't really know what you took during that time, but, my guess is that you have NOT gotten "rid of it" and Lyme has now gotten to the chronic stage. You may have felt well throughout the period of where you got bit as your own immune system can keep symptoms at bay, but, now, if you are experiencing symptoms, it has been overwhelmed and you need to see a doctor who knows how to treat this MOST COMPLICATED DISEASE, Lyme Disease.
