Hi,

Hoping you guys can help me out with this lastest test result.

Amylase under 30 normal between 30-110.

My research was going towards pancreatic, or kidney/liver problems and admit a bit scared. My urea is also low. 2.3 normal is between 2.5-6.1. Also showed some dehydration, but I drink so much water.

I see internal medicine, the only doctor to take me seriously and admit I am very sick.

Wondering if anyone else has had these numbers and what they usually indicate.

Thanks
LYmiecanuck

Amalyse is the enzyme that is in saliva that starts the digestive process when we chew our food. In my case, with my chronic not yet diagnosed face pain, my amalyse levels can shoot up to almost 180. I'm just thinking that a low number could also mean other things going on besides pancreatic problems.

I know this isn't really what you were looking for as an answer, but Im just suggesting that there are other reasons for abnormal amalyse scores (ie/mumps is another one).

Good luck though! Sleepy

On my last doc visit, I was given free sample of a prescription pill containing various digestive enzymes, including amylase. Was told to see if it was helpful for diarrhea.

I couldn't see any difference, but then my diarrhea is controlled if I take enough acidophilus anyway.

It has also been suggested to me that malabsorption is involved. I have trouble keeping enough weight on, so maybe digestive enzymes would help that situation.

This is Lyme/babesia caused, without a doubt in my case. They just go around wrecking things.
