Well, in the morning I have an endoscopy scheduled to try to figure out what's going on with my stomach and digestive system. I think things are starting to resolve themselves now that I've been off the Rocephin for a while (it caused sludging even without my gallbladder there) but I'll feel better after the endoscopy knowing if there's something else going on that will show up.

I'm not looking forward to getting the tube down my throat but I'll manage with it. Hopefully it'll all go very smoothly and I'll get some good news (I'm not exactly sure what that is because I kind of want something easily fixable to show up so I'll know what's wrong).

Before being dx with lyme I had an endoscopy to. Not a bad test at all.

They sedated me and I don't even remember having it done.

Best of luck to you!

Don't sweat it Annie. I had one and it was no big deal. They gave me enough versid and phentenal so I was flying. While it was awkward, I didn't feel a thing.

It was kinda cool watching the scope go down my esophagel haunted house. Science fiction.

Hi,

Thanks everyone. I just go back from it and it all went fine, nothing showed up in my stomach so the GI dr. diagnosed me with non-ulcerative dispepsia (whatever that is). I wasn't given versid, instead they used demerol. I was asleep from the point right after the tube went in and didn't wake up until quite a while later in the recovery area. They also gave me benadryl, I guess just to be cautious since I'm allergic to IV contrast dye and they weren't sure what reaction I might have from whatever it is they used. The benadryl has left me very tired and it made it much more difficult to come out of it and wake up. So, I'm still groggy and probably will be for the rest of the afternoon. Back to bed for me! I've got some good DVDs to watch to keep me occupied and I'll probably spend a lot of time sleeping, too.

It was good news that things are fine. The dr. actually said my stomach was "pristene"! Nice to know! I think everything was just triggered by the "gallbladder" attack I had about five or six weeks ago and now I just have to wait for things to settle down. They are slowly getting better (I'm actually eating a semi-normal meal right now so that's a huge step forward). I just hope I get back to normal and back on treatment soon!
