Hi,

I don't have the proof to back it up but I started Bicillin in February then tested + for m. fermentans in March. The only thing that gets rid of mycoplasma is doxy.

I remember reading that either bicillin or doxy decreases the effectiveness of the other one.

I was in the process of switching docs so I never ended up taking the 2 together. I ended up stopping bicillin after 2 shots.

That's all I can say about it. Hope it helps.

Corgilla

Maddog,
Why Doxy? Penicillin is known to work well with Biaxin and Zithromax.

Hi Maddog,

I am not a doctor but i don't see why not. Doxy gets the L-form of lyme & any ehrlichia's.

I really benefitted from the shots and have been on doxy in the beginning (for ehrlichiosis) and now (hopefully) towards the end of this for me! The last 4 months. I have attacked everything.-6 tick diseases.
I pray this is coming to an end for me & my little sweet heart.

Good luck Maddog. You will herx like crazy!!
Gotta do what you gotta do to get rid of this creepy stuff!

Hi Corgilla- Zithromax gets the mycoplasma fermentans too. Just about any of the mircolides will get myco. f. My little girl has mycoplasma fermentans and has been on zithromax for almost a year along with other lyme meds.

Take care to all.

Hi,

OK, found the proof:

PENICILLIN G (in Bicillin) may interact with DOXYCYCLINE

When taken together, doxycycline may decrease the ability of penicillin G to kill bacteria. If this happens, penicillin G will be less effective at fighting an infection. If possible, avoid using doxycycline while taking penicillin G. Ask your healthcare provider about these drugs and this potential interaction as soon as possible.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered major in severity.

Found it at:
http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/Interaction/ChooseDrugs/1,4109,,00.html

Looked up Bicillin and Doxycycline.
