Dear Lymies,

Nic is now on a combi of Zithro (2x 500mg daily), Flagyl (250mg 5 days a week) and build up to 3x 2 caps of Samento.

Now I heard that Zithro isn't the best drug for neuro-lyme.

I think about trying Minocycline (Doxy only gives sunburn), but not in combination with Flagyl (Tetracycline-family). And I don't know in what dose this is given to an adult man.

Can somebody of you give us some advice in this?

hello,

minocycline is usually started at 100mg and then moved up to 200 or 300mg depending on patients response and tolerability.

minocycline can casue sunburn as well but is not as sensitive as doxy.

Mino worked the best out of all the orals for me but the only one that got rid of all my symtoms and allowed me to sleep was IV Rocephin.
