I have been having a strange array of symptoms since an insect bite with bull's eye rash in August.

I have been to see my PCP multiple times, a gyn., 2 derms., an endocrinologist, an ID doc., and a rheumatologist. Most of which have said they don't know what is going on or have pointed me to a LLMD.

I do have an appt. with a LLMD in early March. Most of the chronic symptoms have been a change in hair, skin and nails.

My hair has darkened, gets very oily and I have noticed dandruff.

My facial skin flushes, is very oily, breaks out and has large pores- all of the sudden. One derm. thought early Rosacea.

Also, I have episodes of hot, red palms and blotchy knuckles.

My nails are ridged and very brittle/dry.

I have always been told I have beautiful skin and nails and then one day it suddenly began to change- almost before my eyes.

Now, I my menstrual cycle seems to have changed. I am only 30 and have always been regular (28 days exactly), but this month am late.

I was especially intersted to see how I felt this month. Last month during my period I felt like I had been run over with a truck. My joints hurt and I had a crushing headache.

Anyone had a similiar experience or can shed some light. Can hormones become involved in Lyme disease or other co-infections?

Thanks.

Heather

Hi Heather-

It is great that you are on your way to an LLMD. Lyme affects your body in many strange and interesting ways with different symptoms weekly, monthly or not.

All of what you mentioned could be lyme. I'm assuming the doctors you have seen have done tests and ruled out other things.

My hormones were totally out of control for a while and are mostly back to normal, whatever that is at 48, now. I certainly feel better than I did a couple of years ago.
