Hi all,

I have been on Tequin 400mg for 2 days. I have hurt my hip tendon, foot tendon and now my shoulder is killing me. I am off it now. I can't beleive this can happen like this so fast!!! Truly incredible, devastating.

Any advice, I did searches and cant' do physio as have no money for that. What can I do? Even if it was herxing- my God!!!!! I feel like total relpse.

I was on it for pnemonia. Great eh? Walked in the freezing cold while herxing heavily. Not bright, didn't know any better, do now.

I am so upset. I have read alot of stories here on people getting this. Am I ever glad I didn't follow through with staying on Samento now.

What's the blood vessel involvement. When I had bad problems with this hip before, my circulation was affected, and how horrible it is. Is it vasculitis too?

Thanks for the help and advice.

If Tequin is like levaquin(a flouroquinalone)it has been my experience and at least one other person I know that these type abx's can cause tendonitis....you should be ok after you've quit them for awhile...but tell your doc you don't want this family of abx in the future.......zman

Hey Zman,

Yes it is that family of drugs. If I had of known I would have never accepted this drug and you can be sure I will never touch it again.

Stay out of the cold oh my! Move slower now and stretch slowly keep muscles warm. Dont move around much until this stuff gets out of your system it hangs around quite a while.

Hey lymiecanuck,

I took cipro for a urinary tract infection and got real bad tendinitis..all over, within 24 hours. It cleared up though, so I know it was a herx, at least for me.

I hope you feel better soon be gentle with yourself.

Hi,

Treepatrol, the link won't work right now so will try later.

Someone told me months ago about senstivity to quoinoliones(sp) and Samento and they experienced tendon problems and to be careful. I ended up not staying on Samento for other reasons, and had never been on a cipro drug before.

I felt my back now a lot and have barely have been moving for this stuff to happen. Just spoke with GP and is switcing me to Ketex for the pnemonia for 7 days, as Biaxin which I have no problems with is not strong enough for my chest infeciton.
But Ketex in Biaxin family.

Yes this all really sucks and I hope it stops soon.

Thanks Tree,

Good links. Now I know why i have been having increasing numbness and tingling all over today which I havent' experienced for some time.

I wasn't exactly sure where tendons were before, kinda hard to know what kind of pain one is experiecing. But KNOW now, and have had lots of tendon stuff with lyme, so this doesn't help.
