How can you tell when you're herxing? My last day of my normal self was around December 12th and then again, January 22. In between, I haven't had much, this is the worst I've had. I started rocephin 11/8, am on daily 2 gr., temporarily raised to 3 gr. for 1 week, started freaking out, back to 2 gr. but was on flagyl 1000 for 30 days straight with zithromax. Due to freaking out, took off zithromax and she only does flagyl 1000 for 1 month at at time. This is weird, cough, runny nose, like a "real cold" but except with every flu symptom magnified. I was taken off rocephin till MOnday due to 2.4 wbc. Put on 250 mg. zithro - no rocephin or ceftin. On vacation on them till Mon.
Thanks for your input - this is like a foreign invader in my body - so I'm not sure of cycles.

If you have more than one strain of lyme it can complicate it (recognizing)the herx's because they might be cycling at two different times. If the iv stuff becomes to much go on high orals at least two abx's at a time for 2or3 months at a time and then cycle in a new abx while removing one of the old ones. Also you can have flagyl added afer the load is knocked down.
How do I know its a herx well besides symptoms of lyme in general.
A herx (was recognized)By me when I had all the aches and pains bones ached eyes hurt and flu like feelings every 28 to 34 days.
If you mark down every day in a journal you will see a pattern develope the better you get the easier to spot the herx. Eventually the herx's diminish every 28 to 34 days they will get smaller and smaller reactions. When you no longer herx at all I recomend at least treating for a extra 3 to 6 months.
But Iam no DR and thats just what seemed to work for me. Actually my symptoms stopped and I kept treating this last go around for about 7 months. Or 14 months total. Wife did a year
