I'm not sure if this will make any sense. I'm a newbie to the site but not a newbie to lyme. I've been on and off drugs for the past 3 years and it seems like everytime I relapse my symptoms get worse.
The latest thing that is going on is literally shocking. I could be doing anything and all of a sudden it feels like a large surge of electricity going through my body. It doesn't last long at all but its strong enough to make me jump. I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone and if so what kind of meds did your doc use to treat it. I was told my my doc that rifampin might help this but i'm a lil weary of going on more meds. I don't know if the things I am experiencing are truly lyme symptoms or just normal ticks and cracks of the body. Sometimes you just start wondering to yourself maybe it is all in my head like everyone says it is. I just don't know anymore. Please help

Pixie, I am sure someone more knowledgeable will get back to you..You might find some help under the forum header if you click on search..Then type in Electric shock or something similiar..and do a search.

I remember once seeing a post about something like this..It may have been people constantly getting shocked, but there were also some replies..

My daughter often goes thru spells of getting shocked when she touches things..I think it has to do with electrolytes, but I am not sure..Good luck..

Hi Pixie....I doubt it's in your head. I know most people who talk about the electric shocks speak of PAIN at the same time. Is this shock painful?

I have pain like that, but it's a nerve pain I'm pretty sure....and it's specifically in one part of the body...not the whole body.

I get those, mostly when I cough, and have it when I herx, or when I've been off abx for while. I believe it is one of the signs of central nervous system involvement.

I get a lot of electrostatic shocks. I also get this electric buzz feeling through out my body at times. It used to be most of the time. Now it is less. I have been on abx 11 months.

I also take trace minerals and I think that has helped. I also use Real Salt (thats the brand) from the helth food store. This has minerals in it.

Email me if you want more info.
