I have quite a lot of muscletwitching and also some weakness in my body. I have been tested for almost anything serious by the traditional doctor and they say that there is nothing wrong with me.

At a stage I was pretty convinced that I had als but I don't think my feeling of weakness is that serious and it is better some days.

I have not seen a LLMD yet but am going to soon to get a proper testing etc.

The fear of what is wrong with me and the doctors saying that nothing is wrong has made my mind in havoc. I am taking anti-depressants and this has helped a bit.

I would be comforted if other suffering from Lyme would report twitching and the feeling of weakness, not grave weakness, but some weakness. The muscletwitching is driving me crazy but you got to try and ignore it.

Thanks for listening.

I personally have yet to have been dx'd with lyme, but I have both of these symptoms you mentioned.

Even when I just wake up in the morning and stand up, my legs feel like I have been standing up for hours. Kinda like your legs might feel after walking around an amusement park all day.

It's not that bad everyday, but sometimes my muscles get very tired, very quickly.

My muscles twitch too. My eye had a tic for 2+ months. That was super annoying. Now the twitches are in my legs.

I hope that you get to see that LLMD soon.

Hi Lars,

I've been twitching for about 6 years, and have an on/off perceived feeling of weakness in various parts of my body.

I also have an internal buzzing/tremor that comes and goes.

You're not alone.

Hi Lars!
Muscle twitching and weakness was my 1st major sympton. I still have them also muscle cramps. Mine are alot better a whole lot better and the weakness is almost gone for most days.
Magnesium helps the twitches alot for me. Make sure you are getting tested by a LLMD Dr. and nnnnoooooooooooooooooo one else. I am sure you have read the info on here if not do it. Hope this helps.
Mule

Twitching was also one of my first symptoms. I have pretty bad CFS, probably lyme.

I'd recommend seeing that LLMD as soon as you can.

Muscle twitches and spasms for me too - beginning of my symptoms.

Was scared to death I might have ALS - doctors thought I was crazy.

Both primary and neurologist said I wasn't having twitches (because they could not see them) and handed me anti-anxiety drugs...

Hi All,

Thanks for replying and I am pleased to hear that several others are experiencing twitching and some light weakness, not that I want you to suffer from it because it is a pain in the ....

I am trying to see a LLMD as soon as possible

Twitching maybe a symptom of Lyme disease.
I think it is caused by presence of Bb toxin in the brain (my hypothesis)

I have just come off four months of i.v. rocephin and was put on ceftimine (or something like that orally) IN the past week my muscles have been going into spasm, my joints hurt so much it wakes me up at night, and I am swelling around the eyes again. My right hand especially last finger is going numb and freezing and I have two toes that feel like electric cattle prods (always on) are doing off in them. Guess I am one of the rocephin failues. Oh yeah, I am starting to slur again.
I'd sure appreciate some tips on what to say to my i.v. specialist, who wanted to shrug off the numbness when I mentioned it to him in my last visit. He actually physically shrugged. I have called for another appointment but am not optimistic.
did I mention the exhaustion? hah! Have to take cell phone when I walk the dog in case I can't make it back home on my own steam.
Allergic to penecillin which is why no biaxin. I also have Morgellons' by the way, and it's no fantasy.
We have located a doc in New Mexico who figures it is stenotrophomonas maltophilia. Rocephin doesn't touch it.
Help?
