To make a long story short, I was about 90% of good health after Lyme treatment, from the near death I was before seeing my LLMD. I moved out of state, so I could not see him since distance was a factor. Since I was feeling good, I pretty much forgot about it. And living the stressful life that I live, Lyme came back in a hurry.

So I am building myself up again, but this time my doctor is treating me for Candida. (For the life of me, I don't know why my LLMD did not treat me for Candida then, which may explain why I never totally got over Lyme).

But before I go on, last summer I got all of my mercury fillings removed. I went on chelation at the time as well. And I was tested for Mercury, and the test showed I did not have any Mercury left in me. So I figured I was in the clear.

Now back to today. My doctor game me this "super spore, friendly bacteria". Which is supposed to be potent stuff. I started to take it at a dose 4x as what I was supposed to. (They forgot to tell me I should only take one pill a day.)

So I started to go downhill that night, and it's like I got hit with a freight train. Total flu like symptoms, I am going to the can like every 30 minutes, passing out dinner in about an hour, I mean, all hell is breaking lose. I felt like I was going to die.

I called the doc's office, and they said this should be a indicator that you are having a 'Candida herx'. Honestly, I finally did some research on Candida, and I found out that a Candida herx can knock you down just like a Lyme herx. Honestly I paid little mind and respect to Candida, I underestimated till now. I now realize Candida by itself can pretty much mimic Lyme, with joint and neurological symptoms.

But the good news, my tounge is finally showing signs of getting pinker and pinker, it's not nearly as white and coated as it was before. And my skin does not seem as dry as it was before treatment for Candida.

But all this is leading up to my question, finally, just yesterday, I started to get this funny thing that started to happen. I started to get this metallic taste in my mouth. I used to get these pretty often when I had my mercury fillings, and the taste seemed to go away when I got the fillings removed and chelated. But I was thinking to myself, why am I getting this taste back, I have no mercury fillings?

Well I did some research on this, and found that there is a coorilation between Candida and Mercury. That during a Candida die-off you could get a release of Mercury from the dead Candida. If I recall correctly, I think the Candida can wrap itself around the mercury, making it hard for Chelation to actually work 100%.

I just wanted to know if anyone else here can shed some light on the subject, or if this is even a possibility. I don't know how legit this information was that I found on the internet.

It tastes like I am been sucking on a 9-volt battery and a rusty metal fence.

Could there be anything else that can be causing this? And if it's due to a "Candida/Mercury dieoff", should I go back on chelation?

Anyone else here go through this? Help?

Cap, there is no lab test available at this time that can tell you that you have no mercury left in the body; or for that matter if any is left in your body.
You can only do a challenge test that will mobilize a certain amount of heavy metals at that point and the results will give you an indication of your toxicity. If nothing comes out through the challenge, it does not mean there is no heavy metal left in your body. It merely indicates that your body is not releasing any at this time.

If your symptoms are gone, okay, you may assume no heavy metal toxicity.

The cell wall of candida are holding heavy metals and when the die-off takes place, metals are set in motion. You need to have some agents in your system to move the metals along and take them out of the body.

I posted about this many times. What to take, when to take it, etc. So you might read some. It seems the Search function is out of order and has been out for weeks now. Maybe you can check with the moderators. You will also find plenty of info on www.neuraltherapy.com, the website of my doctor who helped us to get well.

Just for your general info, a heavy metal detox can take several years. It is rarely ever done in a few months time.

I too am being treated for systemic candida........I've been at it about a month. At times I get the metallic taste but not often so doc is checking my mercury (went thru mercury detox once already).

Am thinking the candida is causing my severe abd/trunk pain..........some days are better than others but I usually wake up in severe pain.

My thrush is improving.............sure makes food taste better without thrush!

Absolutely! I've been preaching this to the walls for a long time. And Gigi has been preaching mercury for a long time.

Are you not taking anything else that could be causing the metallic taste? I know Biaxin does that. So if you're not on Biaxin, I would think mercury is the culprit.

Be sure to read the 5 steps for eliminating yeast in the following link.

Hope you figure this one out so you can complete your "wellness!"

Thanks for the info guys... Yea the "Candida Elimination" link was the first place I went for information on getting rid of those buggers.

I will talk to my doctor about chelation and a challenge.

As far as taking anything else that would cause the metallic taste, not that I am aware of. Other than the "rusty metal fence" pills that I am taking.

I will let you guys know of my progress! (Assuming I make any.)
