I've had it too....more along what blueocean describes....shooting pains that come and go from the inside.

Sometimes it makes it hard for me to walk upstairs (and backpacking in the Grand Canyon used to be a piece of cake for me)

I hope it goes away soon....for all of us!

hi blueocean - after i experienced a couple of ileus' (total gut shut down) in jan & feb, i had lots of residual pain, flagyl & ketek eventually eradicated it - my pain was a dull throbbing that radiated up from the pelvic floor...you don't say if you're doing antibotics or not...

Hi Blueocean -

I have been haunted by pelvic pain for quite some time.

I'm not sure if you're male or female.

I am a female & most of my pelvic pain stems from my interstitial cystitis (IC), which is an evil bladder disorder. It can cause horrifying, long lasting pain.

It doesn't necessarily have to accompany urination - altho with some it does. Also, many with IC also urinate frequently - even during the night (instead of sleeping soundly.)

I also get pelvic pain from functional ovarian cysts & when those break down, I can get some pretty excruciating pain with that.

All of this pelvic pain can vary in intensity & the "style" - whether it's an aching, throbbing, stabbing, or electrical pain.

My life is filled with much variety. Yipee.

Mostly women are the "victims" of IC - altho males can get it too.

If you'd like more info about IC - you can get more at this website: www.ic-network.com or maybe it's .org or .net

Yes, the Lyme has effected my memory...very much. It's the Interstitial Cystitis Network...you can find it.

It has a pretty good message board there, too - so you can ask questions.

And YES, there is a link between IC & Lyme.
Yeah, another yippee.

Hope your pain goes away & you don't have it. It is horrible, horrible pain.

Blessings,

I had constant pelvic pain for the last 2 years. For me it turned out to be an inflamed bladder. I found out with a thermagram, a device that measure heat in the body and thus inflammation.

I'm treating it with a photon stimulator, a near infrared light device that promotes circulation and healing and the pain is gone unless I eat something that aggravates it like grains.

Yes, but it still could be a variety of things. I asked about the "type" of pain, because if it was electrical, it could be from a nerve in your lower back or sacrum.

Do you, or have you had, any problems with your colon? I have, and the pain felt like an ice pick in the right side of my abdomen.

Have you been to the gyno lately?

Sorry, I'm not being too helpful here, there are so very many things that could be causing your pain.
